  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Today is a day of rejoicing for countless Brits, so please join us in praising God, and celebrating our deliverance.

Extricating the UK from the monolithic European Union has been on my heart since I was first called to such intercession in the mid 90s, so for me and many like me, it is a day of victory.

Sadly, many Christians take the opposite view, somehow believing that the EU represents God's will for the nation. To me, it is Babylon, a precursor to the antichrist's final kingdom. And interestingly, for those who have never looked closely, the EU constantly boasts of its Babylonian roots, with all sorts of sculptures, architecture, and artwork depicting Babylonian themes from the book of Revelation.

I also want to thank the many prayer warriors and intercessors, not just in Britain, but in the USA and elsewhere who have stood with us in this battle.

I welcome your thoughts.

Finally! The political mess in the UK was blocking the rest of Europe for too long.

I left England 56 years ago. I owe my parents a great deal, although I was not convinced at the time. The EU is just one of the disasters to befall the nation that gave us the Wesley brothers, Spurgeon, Hudson Taylor, CT Studd, Evan Roberts (OK he was Welsh) and many other great men of faith. And women too - Jesse Penn-Lewis and Margaret Barber come to mind. I visited England just after the Brexit vote. It shows how deeply the EU's claws were sunk into what used to be "Great" Britain. It's taken over 3 years to break free. It's still a place of great beauty and potential. The decline of Christianity is the real problem. When that is reversed, we may well see the "Great" restored.

"According to a 2010 study 76.2% of the European population identified themselves as Christians."
Christianity in Europe - Wikipedia

"78% of adults in USA identified themselves as Christians in 2012".
Christianity in the United States - Wikipedia

The myth that Europe is somehow "anti Christian" while USA are example of a Christian country is just a myth. There is much less organized religion in Europe, Christians do not attend local churches regularly. But it differs from country to country, Poland or Italy are something different than France or Czech republic.

I really hope not. Increased CO2 emissions and everything else that comes along with it. Probably cost more for the consumer. Deals suit business and leaders not the masses.

I'd prefer people to trade with their neighbours where possible. Also, to move away from consumerism into sustainability. While society is so economy focussed that can't happen though.

United States /North America needs spiritual awakening/renewal, too.

I am working on book project.
- One part of book is on spiritual renewal/awakening in Christian history.
- My interest / research is on that topic.
----
- I do not agree with the term 'Christian Country.'
- Concept of 'Christian empire/country & state religion' can be traced..to time of 'Constantine & Theodosius'.
---
I was responding to another post ( Aussie ).
*Also, I do not wish to get off from OP's main focus.
---
I understand that you do not agree with me.

Congratulations on the victory!
Thanks my friend.
Having attended your US Independence Day celebrations a couple of years ago, it's obvious how significant the day is to most Americans, recalling the time when you threw off the oppressive yoke of Britain.
And speaking as a Brit, I am in total agreement with the Revolutionary war, Britain thoroughly deserved to lose its American colonies, and additionally I also believe it was the will of God.

Likewise, the independence of the UK from the dominion of the EU is of equal significance, and for very similar reasons. I also believe that it is the will of God for us to be free once again.
