In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I just can't believe people get so excited about these kind of things. Remember 1/1/2000? My computer was supposed to spontaneously combust, and the world was going to come to an end, none of which (of course) happened...

The Carolina Hurricanes went to the Stanley Cup and survived a triple power play without getting scored on. I've never seen a triple power play in my life. I've never seen a shorthanded goal in my life, and that happened, too. And, the Hurricanes overcame a 3-0 deficit to win the game, 5-4. That ties the playoff record. :D

Most of all, I WAS AT THE STANLEY CUP! WOO WOO!!! It's been a good day.

The apocalypse is near. (especially if you're from Edmonton. :p)

Yesterday I got up. Got the kids up. Pestered them to brush their teeth and stop dancing around the kitchen. Dropped them at pre-school, went to work. Worked. Came home. Decided to get take out chicken for dinner. Had dinner inside while the kids ate on the deck with their new kid-sized picnic table. Gave my boys a bath and the girl a shower. Read them bedtime stories and put them to bed. Then watched TV until bed time.

That's kinda how most of my weekdays go.
