  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Today I Saved a Life

Today while driving to work I saved a life -- well, sort of. Let me start from the beginning.

Today while driving to work, I saw a car approaching on my right side, he was fighting to get into gridlock traffic. You could see the frustration on his face. I made room for him, gave him a quick wave and a smile.

That was enough to brighten that persons day. Later on he decided to pass that joy on. After he left work, he saw a woman stranded on the side of the road. He stopped and helped her change a flat tire.

After her tire was fixed she was on her way. The woman drove to the local grocery where she filled her child's prescription to help reduce his high fever. While at the grocery store the woman observed a couple who were a few dollars short buying items for their new baby. She helped them out with the few dollars they were short.

That man could have became frustrated trying to get into traffic and taken that frustration out on others. That woman could have been seriously hurt if stranded on the freeway for a long period of time. That little boy's fever could have been dangerous without the medicine. That couple might not have been able to take care of their new baby as well with out those few extra dollars.

All because of a smile and a wave.

OK, none of these really happened, except for the smile and wave, but you never know where a smile and wave might lead. Try it sometime. Happiness can be a very infectious condition if spread right.

tehehe, true true. Very true, such small things can change such big things in just so many ways. praise God, if that smile and wave really did have some impacts on other people.
