I have been saved for around 2 weeks, my husband seems to think that I need to wait because it is too soon. At a church I attended Sunday to see Perry Stone has open baptisms this coming Sunday evening and I was thinking of going and being baptised.

What do you think?

I don’t see a problem with that! Baptism is a step of obedience, if you feel in your heart that is the right time to get baptised and you know what it means to be baptised then Praise the Lord!!!

PS. The Lord has different timings for every person…

-My mother was baptised about 1 month after becoming a Christian.
-I grew up in a Christian church and took me 16 years to get baptised

Many of the Biblical accounts of people coming to salvation show them getting baptized immediatly.

Acts 2:38-41
38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off--for all whom the Lord our God will call."
40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation." 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

Acts 8:35-38
35 Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.
36 As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, "Look, here is water. Why shouldn't I be baptized?" 38 And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him.

Acts 16:30-33
30 He then brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
31 They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you and your household." 32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. 33 At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his family were baptized.

What I gather from this is simply that once you come to know Christ, it is never too soon to be baptized.

If you feel that you are ready to make that outward comitment, then there is no time that is too soon. Many have been baptised immediately after accepting Christ. There's no hard and fast rule that says that you haev to spend x number of days as a Christian before doing His will. :)

God bless you and welcome to the fellowship of Christ!

I was saved in April and Baptised on 8th August....

This was when I felt that I really knew what being baptised meant.

If you think you are ready to do it, then go ahead! Let us all know how you feel afterwards. I felt incredible secure in my faith as I had taken the first step to obedience.....

Sweetheart, if you feel convicted to do it and you understand what baptism is...then by all means go for it!! I was baptized a month after coming to Christ and I would have done it much sooner except I had to wait for the next baptism at the church. The Bible shows plenty of people accepting Christ and being baptized immediately. God bless you and don't let the fire and joy that God has put in you to be extinguished--even a young Christian has much to offer, don't ever forget it.
