I have only heard of it. My inability to understand a question does not mean that no one else can understand it.
That's true. Every question rides into town on an assumption. Sometimes we need to show that the assumption is flawed. Questions that ask "Is there biblical support for X" are of this kind. The false assumption is that the Bible is the ultimate standard of truth and reality.I didn't imply that. Only noted that while you can find truth by asking questions, you only find the truth that those questions assumptions allow.

It is forunate for both of us that I get a great deal more informtion out of your comments than you put into them. Your short quips & quotes certainly appear to be of little value except to throw question on anything that another poster may post. How can one be setting up stumbling blocks to truth by asking questions? The only way to find truth is by asking questions.
sentipenti, there are no foolish questions, only foolish answers, of which, there may be many. The question that is truly foolish is very well thought out. Your questions are proof of that old statement. If a question is foolish that will become obvious.
If indeed you really did mean this then all I can say is; God have mercy on your soul. The false assumption is that the Bible is the ultimate standard of truth and reality.
Don't you worry about my soul, Doc. If you read the Bible you would know I don't have one.My eyes must be playing tricks on me!
sentipente, did you really mean this?If indeed you really did mean this then all I can say is; God have mercy on your soul.

doesn't supprise me even a little bit. It also explains, perhaps, the shallowness of your post and the lack of textual refference. If you do nothing else, do yourself a favor, learn the scriptures and get to know the Word.Don't you worry about my soul, Doc. If you read the Bible you would know I don't have one.
Ahh--a few examples of this please!Night follows church doctrine a whole lot more then many other SDAs I know.

You would have gained more respect in the world peopled by individuals with a higher level of intelligence if you had simply admitted that your reference to a soul demonstrated that you had no grasp of how the Bible views human life. These futile efforts you make at insulting me only fly back in your face like certain well-known fluids in the wind.sentipente, why is it your post;doesn't supprise me even a little bit. Respectfully,

Oh, I am sure Night is a good Adventist, he just has a hard time showing it, maybe he is a bit shy....
With so many insults flying all over the place, I'm sure everyone has a hard time showing love to their neighbor all the time, myself included.
Anyway, to get back on the topic, there's something that I've been thinking about. The salvation offered by Jesus is definitely conditional: we need to believe in him. But what exactly does that mean? Is it simply accepting his sacrifice, or is it something more? Scripture please!

The Bible says that demons believe and tremble so a mere mental ascent to believe is not enough. We need to have a personal relatonship with Jesus Christ and accept the plan of salvation in our lives. We must confess our sins and repent of them. Christ said we must be born again. That means to turn around from the old life style and live a new one in Him. He also said to take up our cross and follow Him. That to me means we must die to our old natures which is making a daily choice to allow the power of Christ to keep us from sinning. We must choose to not sin each time we are tempted and we must choose Christ instead.
Most all Christians on this forum will agree with everything I have just said with the exception of the sinning part. They say you can't stop sinning in this life not even with the power of Christ. I say this is against what the Bible tells us.
