“The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel:
To know wisdom and instruction,
To discern the sayings of understanding,
To receive instruction in wise behavior,
Righteousness, justice and equity;
To give prudence to the naive,
To the youth knowledge and discretion,
A wise man will hear and increase in learning,
And a man of understanding will acquire wise counsel,
To understand a proverb and a figure,
The words of the wise and their riddles.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
Fools despise wisdom and instruction.” (Proverbs 1:1-7 NASB1995)
How do we know wisdom and instruction from the Lord? We know it by being in genuine biblical relationship with Jesus Christ via God-persuaded and God-gifted faith in the Lord whereby we die with him to sin and we now walk in holiness and righteousness in obedience to our Lord and to his commands in the power and wisdom of God. We know it by the Spirit of God now living within us teaching and instructing us in the ways of the Lord. And we know it by being diligent students of the Scriptures who study them in context.
Collectively, we who are of genuine biblical faith in the Lord Jesus, in practice, are the church, the body of Christ, the children of God, with Jesus Christ as our head, Lord, and master. And we are to be followers of Christ who go with him wherever he sends us in doing all that he commands us that we must do as those who are of genuine biblical faith in the Lord. We are to be those who submit to the Lordship of Christ, who surrender to his will, and who live holy lives, pleasing to God, in his service daily.
Sadly, much of today’s church has wandered from the faith, and they have gone after the gods of this world, instead. They have partnered with the government and with the world in an unholy union, which God forbids, and they have turned the house of God, his church, into a marketplace to be marketed to the world just like any other business, which God also forbids. And they have altered and diluted the message of the gospel to make it more attractive to the world who they want to come to their gatherings.
As a result, many people are believing lies taught them in the name of God, and in the name of the Word of God, but taught out of their correct biblical context and twisted to say what they do not teach in the correct context. And they are believing that they can make a profession of faith in Jesus and now have all their sins forgiven, and be on their way to heaven, but without them surrendering their lives to Christ in dying with him to sin and in walks of obedience to his commands. So heaven is not their eternal destiny.
Thus, God is calling his church to return to him, to leave these ungodly and unholy unions with the government and with the world, and to abide by the Lord and his commandments, with Jesus Christ as the true head of his church. He is calling his wayward and adulterous church to come home to him in fellowship with him in walks of obedience to his commands in holy living, and to no longer go after the ways of this sinful world. And he is calling his church to now be seekers of truth and righteousness.
[Matthew 21:12-13; John 2:13-17; Acts 5:27-32; 1 Corinthians 1:10-13; 1 Corinthians 3:1-9; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18; Philippians 3:18-19; Revelation 2:1-29; Revelation 3:1-22; Revelation 13:5-8; Revelation 18:1-5]
For Jesus Christ taught that to come to him we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin), and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to living in sin and for self, we will lose our lives for eternity. But if we deny self, die daily to sin, by the Spirit, and we walk in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in his power, then we have eternal life with God. For not everyone who calls him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one DOING (obeying) the will of God (see Luke 9:23-26; Matthew 7:21-23).
For by God-gifted faith in Jesus Christ, which is not of our own doing, we are crucified with Christ in death to sin and raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin but as slaves to righteousness in walks of obedience to God’s commands. We are no longer to permit sin to reign in our mortal bodies to make us obey its desires. For if sin is what we obey, it results in death. But if obedience to God is what we obey, it results in sanctification, and its end is eternal life with God (see Romans 6:1-23).
And we learn in 1 John 1-3 that if we claim that we have fellowship with God, but yet we walk in darkness (sin), we are liars. If we claim that we know God, but we do not obey his commandments, in practice, we are liars. For it is not the one who claims he is “in Christ” who is “in Christ,” but it is the one who has denied self, died with Christ to sin, and who is now walking in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in practice, and no longer in sin. We have the hope and the promise of eternal life with God in heaven.

Bombs are bursting. Night is falling.
Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.
Trust Him with your life today.
Make Him your Lord and your Savior.
Turn from your sin. Follow Jesus.
He will forgive you of your sin;
Cleanse your heart, made new within.
Men betraying: Our trust fraying.
On our knees to God we’re praying,
Seeking God to give us answers
That are only found in Him.
God is sovereign over all things.
Nothing from His mind escaping.
He has all things under His command,
And will work all for good.
Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.
Men deceiving: We’re believing
In our Lord, and interceding
For our nation and its people
To obey their God today.
He is our hope for our future.
For our wounds He offers suture.
He is all we need for this life.
Trust Him with your life today.
