  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I seriously doubt it. For starters, if Republicans were truly interested in restoring our nation, they would have done it while Reagan was president. Second, the GOP is interested in money, not morality. They worship Mammon. That goes for both parties. It's all about money, big business, pet interests, and lobbyist groups. What conservative causes could the GOP possibly turn the tide with? They won't outlaw abortion. They won't criminalize same-sex marriage. Opposing welfare and immigration have nothing to do with Christianity. They are strictly political.

It's not a forum for the discussion of politics, folks. There is one called "American Politics" that would be a good place, and another entitled "Christian Current Affairs."

And my purpose really wasn't for discussion. I just wanted to praise God for the results of the election, I didn't specify exactly why I was praising Him. :)

Of course we all know what you were talking about, just like your last thread here which was entitled "Vote Conservative!" Just put 'em in one of the appropriate forums, OK?

I'd suggest that coming here and suggesting that conservative Christians have all these nefarious motives is not the correct thing to do on the Conservative Christianity forum.
