I would suggest you also address this to Buddhists.
And I guarantee you that their answers are worse than the one given by Creationist.
What would Mendeleev's answer have been if asked 'How many elements in the Periodic Table'?I consider any answer that's not within 95% of reality a bad answer.
What would Mendeleev's answer have been if asked 'How many elements in the Periodic Table'?

There is no Creationism in Buddhism. I also recall reading that the Buddha was obstinately silent on the issue of origins.I would suggest you also address this to Buddhists.

I believe they claim it's "beyond our understanding" --- which is wrong.I also recall reading that the Buddha was obstinately silent on the issue of origins.
Hebrews 11:3a said:Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God...
I don't think Buddhists put much truck in your religious texts, AVI believe they claim it's "beyond our understanding" --- which is wrong.
Why not?I don't think Buddhists put much truck in your religious texts, AV.

For the same reason Jews don't put much truck in the Qu'ran, or Navajo Indians the Kitab-i-Aqdas, or [religious group] the [unrelated religious text]: a group only believes in its religious texts. Why not?
Oh, don't listen to Hespera. She can be forward at timesWe're not part of their Fourfold [whatever] or Eightfold Path?
That's why the Buddhists on this forum are confusing to me.
They don't accept us for what we are, and they also favor science over anything.
I have a sneaking suspicion that they are Buddhist in name only.
.It still is. One of my best friends is BuddhistBack in my days, it was "cool" to have your own guru, or be a Buddhist monk, or whatever.
What would Mendeleev's answer have been if asked 'How many elements in the Periodic Table'?

'No' to both questions.Do you even know (or care) what the genial idea of Mendelejev was? Do you even know why the Periodic Table is called that?
There is no Creationism in Buddhism. I also recall reading that the Buddha was obstinately silent on the issue of origins.
Hardly. If you truly don't know the explanation for something, then no answer (or "I don't know") is the logical choice. If you don't have an answer, don't try to pretend otherwise. That's why I dislike Creationism: they act as if "Goddidit" is on par with established scientific knowledge. That is what I meant. No answer is worse than an answer.
