Name: Tivanica Ramos (Ti)
Age: 38
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Nationality: Perian
Occupation: Intelligence agent (field operative)
Appearance: Tivanica is fairly tall and strongly built (5'9" and about 155 lbs), with an almost warrior-like femininity about her. She has long, dark blonde hair that she usually keeps pinned up in a braid, and crystalline blue eyes that clearly betray the horrors she has endured. Her bearing is very somber, but there is also a grim purpose about her.
Identifying Features: A fine network of scars that bear mute testimony to what she has been through, and when she speaks her voice is unnaturally raw-- the combined effect of a year and a half of near-silence and the torments inflicted on her.
Personality: Ti is very practical, adaptable and resilient, and generally very up-front. She has lost much of her former spirit, though, and has become quite embittered because of the betrayal she has suffered. Her once strong faith in the Lord has been broken, replaced by a burning hatred for the Zantukites that is now her main driving force in life. She barely ever speaks and refuses to go near the subject of Anserak or the cult.
Quirks: Prefers to be called Ti, although she'll allow her friends to call her Tivanica. She also has a yen for mixed drinks, though she has developed a taste for Dwarven brews.
Abilities: Decent physical combat abilities, mostly with small, easily concealed weapons, although she can go Highlander-style with a sword, too. She much prefers to talk her way through a situation, though, and is actually quite good at it.
Quote: "The Zantukites have more faces than a bag of dice. And Isliel alone probably accounts for about half of 'em."
Background: Tivanica has been with Perian Intelligence for about half her life, usually serving as a field agent of some kind or another. She acquired a reputation for great work and she was given progressively riskier missions, culminating in a long-term assignment that had her living in Anserak. She was to become the guide for a small band of agents who would join her in Anserak, as she would know who to talk to, where the safe spots were and how to deal with the natives, among other things.
These were mostly people she knew well from Intelligence-- the mission leader, Kelton (with no last name at the moment :p), decoder and language expert Sioth Decuirin, stealthy Agnar Vitkei and historian Elen Kinneias. There were also two Sal Kadians along with the Perians-- military officer Teglon Mersedis, whom Ti knew vaguely, and healer Isliel Talora, who was rumored to be one of Sal Kadedin's finest agents. Tivanica felt it her responsibility to keep the group alive-- ignorance could be fatal.
Unfortunately, betrayal from within was not something she was prepared for; trustworthiness had been the number one qualification for everyone in the mission group. First Agnar and then Sioth disappeared, only to turn up dead in gruesome ways. This raised Ti's hackles. Sioth and Agnar had both been very circumspect in their work, so it seemed very odd that the enemy without would be able to take them by surprise like that. The traitor must have sensed her growing suspicions. Not long after Sioth's demise, Tivanica had her own brush with death.
Actually, it was more like a long, slow dance with death: betrayed into the hands of the cultists, she endured what no mortal should. Given her role (and the fact that she'd been a pain in their collective hiney for the longest time), they apparently weren't content with simply killing her. The ordeal by itself was bad enough, but finding out that Isliel had been the traitor proved the fatal blow to her already tattered faith. It lent her an almost unholy resolve to survive, though, if only for the sake of revenge. She faked her own death, which fooled the cultists long enough for her to make an escape, and went into hiding. She later found out that Isliel had vanished neatly into the Shardalonian hierarchy, completely unharmed, Elen had been murdered by the very hand of the healer herself, and Teglon and Kelton had left Anserak before they could fall victim to the same fate.
This news, of course, made Tivanica all the more determined to see the demise of the cult, and Isliel in particular. She had to get out of Anserak, but not back to Phelatia-- her flight took her to the Calkei Mountains instead, and into the midst of the Dwarves. She has now been among the Dwarves for about a year, usually silent, but always waiting for the cultists to show their faces so she can pop them one. She is extremely reluctant to speak of the Zantukites because she does not wish to alarm the Dwarves-- she doesn't think they'd believe her, anyway-- but responsibility still lies heavily on her shoulders.
Objectives: Tivanica wishes for revenge upon the architect of the Anserak mission's failure and the murders of her teammates. Isliel will have hell to pay if Ti gets to her first.
