  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Tithing was before the Law of Moses!

We can see, in Genesis, 14:20, that Abraham gave a tithe to Melchizedek, who was a priest to the Almighty God. Jesus is our High Priest, according to Melchizedek, according to the Bible! So we give a tithe, to our High Priest and God, Jesus Christ!

Obviously, Abraham lived before the Law of Moses was given. So tithing is not only for those, who lived under the Law!

Where did Abraham learned about tithing? From God!

The Bible says that God loves a cheerful giver! The Bible also says that it is more blessed to give, than to receive a blessing!

We give our tithe, not only because it is an obligation, but out of our love for God! Because we love God, and because we recognize that everything we have and get in this life is from him, therefore, we respect God, and thank him, by giving our tithe to him, as a recognition that he is our source of every blessing!
