I've read/heard the verses in the Bible that say if we give 10% to God, it will be given back to us. Well, that had never happened to me before. I tithed for a year, without ever really seeing that promise fulfilled. Well, recently, I started tithing again, and right away, things have been happening! After the first time, I got a good job working for a Christian that I should never have gotten (no experience, cover letter had typos that I discovered too late, ect). After the second time, someone else in the office where I work offered me a few extra hours of work a week making phone calls. Praise God!

Also, God recently answered a prayer of mine about whether or not I should move. It looks like I will be!

Hi! I am Cynthia. It is great that the Lord is blessing you like that. My husband and I have seen first hand how that when you pay tithes the Lord will supply everything you need. And truthfully He has always supplied for extras, too. Good luck on your move. We prayed about moving as well. The Lord has opened up many doors for us and we are so grateful. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! I hope the Lord will continue to Bless you daily as you follow Him.

That is really interesting!! Praise God for the work that he has done in your lives!!

I've been wanting to tithe for ages but I don't have a regular income. I am also struggling a lot with money at the moment and maybe I should just go for it.

Please could you pray for my situation and I will let you know how it goes.

Many thanks all the same for sharing!! Praise God!!

I think that you should just go ahead and tithe, Koolist. I was not joking when I said that God supplied everything. There were times when I just didn't get around to taking out tithes and we ended up spending all of our money and being short later. (Like counting change short!) But everytime that we pay tithes everything is covered--even when it is not logically possible. In the Bible it says that God will give much to the person who is faithful in little. God knows our situations... He knows what we need. I truly believe that if you pay tithes whenever you do get money that He will bless you and meet the needs that you do have. I will be praying for you. God Bless!!

wow! Praise the Lord!

Can I just ask where abouts these verse are that you spoke of? I have never heard that if we tithe, "it will be given back to us"

I thought we were just supposed to tithe.

The location of the verse is escaping me just now...but my boss is a former pastor and still current Christian, so I'll ask him when he gets into work later.

Malachi 3; 7-10 (NIV)

Ever since the time of your forefathers you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you, says the LORD Almighty., But you ask, how are we to return?
Will a man rob God? yet you rob me.
But you ask, how do we rob you?
In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse-the whole nation of you-because you are robbing me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this says the LORD Amighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessings that you will not have room enough for it.

Malachi urged the people to stop holding back their tithes, everything we have is from God in the first place, so when we refuse to return part of it back to God we are robbing God.(v8) The people of Malachi's day ignored God's command to give a tithe of their income. They were probley worried they would not have enough to live on if they gave God 10%. And some times we to can worry about not having enough to pay our way, but as v 10 says Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse (church). Then just stand back and be blessed. The question is! are you going to put your trust in Gods promises.

God bless you.
Love, Paul.
