I heard a tiny whisper in the dark,
Another faint cry followed behind.
I listened intently, trying to focus;
In excess night, theres none to find.
A tiny squeak wait, I hear a child!
Now she cries. Keep none but loud!
Oh God, where is this tender soul?
I cant see in the midst of the crowd
Gasp, I hear her call, calling a name;
She ceases her cries to one soft word.
Where are you? Please tell me!
Silence, not a sound not even a bird.
The air closes in, my heart pounds hard;
My ears hear nothing, my senses drown
My eyes see the night, only the black;
Wait, do you see light near the ground?
Oh yes! What is this tiny speck of life?
Little girl, is that your shining soul?
The light comes closer, but then it fades.
The warmth disappears leaving me cold.
No! Dont go! Please dont leave!
I run toward the light but then I stop.
Tears spill down my lifeless cheeks,
Memories take hold and run non-stop!
My sight is blinded with flashing horrors,
My senses are violated and ripped apart!
I shake and cry from the rude awakening,
Oh how I hate the secrets of my heart
Another faint cry followed behind.
I listened intently, trying to focus;
In excess night, theres none to find.
