Dear Daily Message Readers,
READ: Isaiah 40:21-31
Isaiah 40:30 (NIV) "Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall."
As followers of the incarnate Christ, we may at times feel like we are the world's doormat. We are talked about behind our backs, insulted in front of our faces, and perhaps even beaten physically for our declaration that Christ is Lord. Living for Christ each day can be a physically, emotionally, a spiritually draining lifestyle.
However, after a night's rest, we need to be powered up spiritually. So we turn our heart and mind to the Scriptures, meditate on the truths of God, and spend some quiet time in focused prayer. This time before the Lord powers us up at the beginning of the morning for the pressures and opportunities that are ahead of us in the course of a tough day. And most importantly, it gives us the strength through the Holy Spirit to resist the forceful temptations of Satan, our spiritual foe (1 Peter 5:8).
Perhaps you are sapped of spiritual energy and strength today. Be it a tragedy, an unusually harsh schedule, a physical or emotional problem or pain, or a sin you just can't conquer. It is these times that you have a special need to cry out to the Lord for the power that He alone can provide. Notice the words what Isaiah the prophet wrote during His ministry about this very situation:
Isaiah 40:29 "He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak."
Need to renew yourself? Then go to God for strength to live in joy and to serve Him faithfully. Faith Lesson: Isaiah 40:31: "But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
In Christ,
Darin Smith
