Anyone who doesnt know who this young man is really needs to google him. He is a very humble and talented witness for Christ. Everytime he is in the spotlight he gives God the credit for everthing in his life which I admire. He also spends his summers doing mission work with his family when out of school and out of football season.

University Of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow actually made "John 3:16" the number one search term on Google for a short time by wearing it in the eye black under his eyes during the BCS championship game.....

Well, as a staunch Sooner fan and proud Okie I must say at least that is a great consolation for how the game turned out. It is outstanding that that verse would be the one as well. That is the key verse to the entire Bible.

So, it's amazing how God decides to use people. No wonder the Sooners lost.

Oh well, maybe next year. :)

They'll get their turn at winning... Sooner or Gator.....

sorry, couldn't resist that one.... but yes, God does have reasons for allowing events to turn out the way they do, even when we don't see His Hand at work....

And even if Tebow had lost, it could still be a great witness, but not as much since they don't give much screen time to losers in the post-game show....

(I'm thinking here of one of the greatest scenes in Facing the Giants... "We praise him if we win, We praise Him if we lose, either way, we praise Him" also... "What is impossible with God?" "Nothing Coach")

My clerk at work's family who live in Florida are good friends of the Tebow's and when he does home he gets to spend some time with them. He says that what is said about them being humble and great Christians is all true. I think that using such a public platform is a perfect way to witness for the Lord.

Being in my 30's and being a sports fan for most of my life, I see that the public proclamation of faith has become more and more prevalent by athletes, almost to a point of crescendo in the last 10 years. I think that God is setting the stage for the Coming and is trying to get word out to everyone in any way possible. God wants us to be saved and who better to bring that message than the very sports figures many idolize?

That is one way we are to witness, to give the glory to God and praise Him when greatness falls on us. May God bless Tim Tebow and all those like him who give honor and glory to the father in all that they do! AMEN
