Had a dream I was with a bunch of people from my church and we were getting ready for service to start. One of the leaders of our church amongst the men began throwing up on the floor, and it was the most random thing ever. Anyone know what that might be symbolic of, this is the second dream I've had about this guy and the first one he was swimming next to a crocodile in a whirlpool

Throwing up dream could mean deliverance. This pastor may be having some inner battles going on with him that no one else knows about. Maybe pray for him.

I know what the symbols are commonly translated as, but I'm not going to tell you. But since God talked to you twice, why dont you get to know this leader and see what motivates him. If he's righteous, he's righteous. But if he's not, well by the fruits you'll know him.

as Ark and JRS have said, I think you are being called to pray for this leader. He seems to be living dangerously (spiritually!) He might not even know it though.

These types of dreams are common if you eat before going to bed.

Would be good to pray for him as others have said. Some of the things I would suggest:
- protection of him & others
- sensitivity/revelation in relation to any area where his behaviour may be endangering himself of others
- conviction in any area where that is required
- healing for emotional hurts that may lead him towards temptation
- fresh encounter with Jesus
- encouragement

Vomiting is the body's reaction to internal viruses, poisons, and other things that shouldn't be in there. The body knows how to expel dangerous things. He might have been holding something in for a long time, and needs to vomit...confess or spill his guts.

Those of us who watch River Monsters and other reality nature shows know that swimming next to a crocodile in a whirlpool is supposed to be dangerous, but people still do it. They get a kick out of proving how close they can get to danger. A whirlpool can suck people in and drag them down, to the point that they have no energy to get back out. One direction -- inward and down. (Or is that two.)

One thing to watch out for, though -- make sure that you do not assume wrong things about him. The dream could be your own emotions trying to define how you feel about him. It could be a prompting to pray for him. Or advice to keep healthy distance.

I wonder if people were "getting ready for service to start" -- about to start a project or organization under his leadership or motivation.

May God comfort all the people who have depended on him, and leaned on him for guidance and inspiration.

Do you think it is about him or who/what he symbolizes? Vomiting can represent getting rid of "built up" and "pent up" emotional issues. Swimming (spiritual mode of life travel) next to a crocodile and a whirlpool, points to a risky spiritual position to be in with negative overwhelming potential. Crocs are ancient creatures and point to "troubles of the past" that relentlessly follow you.

Hmmm.....could be...except, as you probably already thought of, when you "feel" the symbolic act, it usually has a negative aura, a repulsion, a relief of burden/pain, and sometimes embarassment attached to it too.

So, I suppose it would depend on if you had heard that particular connection given to it before. That would make a difference. It would also depend on what the emotions of the dreamer were during the dream as he witnessed it.

Just to add to what has already been provided.

Ive always connected throwing up with deliverence as another poster pointed out. And as Parsley stated, "expelling or getting rid of poisons". Add those together and it fits in line with what I have always been taught about deliverence and throwing up. Its the expelling of an unclean spirit.

You mentioned that you and the others were preparing for service to start? I personally think that those in leadership positions should be cautious and sincere about where they are standing when it comes to being in right standing with the Lord. Since you have dreamed of him before with crocodiles it could be an indicator of what he may be doing that is outside of the will of God or a plot of the enemy against him. There could be an attack from the enemy against him and some that should be for him, could really be against him. (swiming with crocodiles and putting that next to him with the group of men you mentioned).

On another note, deliverence is a great thing! The fact that he is s leader it could be a sign of what is to come for the body. I believe that everything starts with the head and trickles down to the body. Since we ALL have flesh to contend with, deliverence taking place for him is a great thing! Whatever the stronghold was in his life, will be broken!

I agree with others that mentioned you ought to pray! Intercession is key when you given an inside glimpse of others spiritual life.

Pray for his deliverence to come and that Gods will may be done in his life. Pray that he would surrender and allow God to keep him against eveil trick of the enemy so that when temptation comes, God can raise up a standard against him. Pray for those around you in the group of men that were present in the dream, to be girded up, unwavering, steadfast and fervent in their own prayer lives.
