Hi... I don't know if you all are into parties, but I was trying to come up with some ideas for an Internet party. The Internet can be so impersonal, and yet for many of us, it is our lifeline. It won't be my birthday until next year in April, but I was in a celebratory mood today, and I thought I'd ask you if you had any ideas about what could make this a more fun experience. Christianity is considered to be a religion by the world, in my estimation, but is also a form of spirituality... for many of us, it is about a personal relationship with Jesus. But what does it mean to draw closer to God? For me, it is sometimes about the little things... smiling at people, throwing parties, giving to charity, helping out as a volunteer, etc. I admit I once read, "Life's Little Instruction Book," even though it is not specifically Christian. Anyway, so when I go to parties, the popular ones are in the middle getting cheese and crackers and talking and talking and talking. The wallflowers gravitate towards the couches and don't talk to anyone, just sip their punch and try to look invisible. The rest of them shuffle around, try to make conversation, move on to the next person or couple or family, and do that again and again until the party is over. I am thinking that an Internet party would be much the same. The talkers would make a lot of posts, and most people would occasionally make posts, and the wallflowers might just read the posts and every once in a while say something. I am a little bit new here, but I was thinking that the makers of this website could put up a banner that says, "Christian Forums Anniversary Party," whenever their anniversary is, and invite new people to join. Or maybe do a promotional bit to go along with it. Got any ideas?
