There are three places in the New Testament where Paul or Jesus take the time to carefully restate some of the Ten Commandments, but in NONE of the three places are the 4th Commandment or the Sabbath spelled out:
In the first instance, in Ephesians 6, Paul really only includes a substantially-restated "Honor thy Mother and Father" Commandment, with some of the most important language deleted:
Ephesians 6
New International Version (NIV)
6 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— 3 “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”[a]
4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. 6 Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. 7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, 8 because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free.
9 And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.
The Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
In the next instance, Jesus is specifically asked point blank TWICE which Commandments to keep, and both times glaringly omits the 4th Commandment and any mention of the Sabbath:
Matthew 19:16-24
New International Version (NIV)
The Rich and the Kingdom of God
16 Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?”
17 “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”
18 “Which ones?” he inquired.
Jesus replied, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, 19 honor your father and mother,’[a] and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’”
20 “All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?”
21 Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
22 When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.
23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
And finally, here Paul restates some of the Commandments, but adds on a extremely detailed and comprehensive list other Do's and Dont's as well:
Romans 13:1-12
New International Version (NIV)
Submission to Governing Authorities
13 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.
6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
Love Fulfills the Law
8 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. 9 The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,”[a] and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
The Day Is Near
11 And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12 The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.
Sabbath Spam trash posters constantly howl and moan about the alleged "lawlessness" that would result from the abandonment of the Old Testament Ten Commandments. They dishonestly smear Christians of favoring murder, adultery and theft if Christians argue that the whole Mosaic Law is obsolete. Yet, in one instance by Jesus and one by Paul, murder, adultery and theft are specifically prohibited. In three separate instances, Jesus or Paul very carefully lay out which particular Commandments are still binding, and use some of the original language of the Decalogue, apparently to give extremely specific instructions to Christians on their duties. In ALL of them, there are substantially FAR MORE rules of a FAR more comprehensive nature than in the Ten Commandments! And yet in all three cases, one Commandment is specifically glaring in its absence. Can you guess which one?
IF THE SABBATH SURVIVED THE CROSS, WHY IS IT CONSPICUOUSLY MISSING ON THESE THREE LISTS?
The common demand of Sabbath Spam Posters that the Ten Commandments must be still applicable is simply disingenuous. They are primarily motivated by the retention of the Sabbath - so they can self-righteously preen and gloat about this "accomplishment" over other "mere" Christians. And likely, to avail themselves of the 10 percent income stream that inevitably attaches itself to their ludicrous and cultish doctrinal superstructure. Notice Jesus Christi's response to the Rich Young Man: "If you want to be perfect, sell all you have and follow me." NOT KEEP THE SABBATH. The Sabbath is glaringly missing from all three New Testament lists. THAT'S precisely why Sabbath Spam trash posters insist on retaining ONLY the Old Testament version of the Ten Commandments, since the Sabbath is NEVER positively commanded in the New Testament. Including in these three places where some of the Commandments are specifically and pointedly reaffirmed.
