This game was thought of by someone brilliant, but I dare not name him in case this game turns out to be illegal.....


Everyone loves thread highjackers! Sometimes threads are SO boring, they go on & on about nothing, till they die of acute expiration of interest.

For this game, you are to go to page 10 or so of any given forum index, find some dead old thread that hasn't been closed, but hasn't had any action for at least a month. The winner will successfully resurrect a deceased thread, chattering on & on about something wildly unrelated to the OP or title. As soon as someone posts a response--to your off topic post, not to the title or OP, you are well on your way! be the first to do this to 9 other threads, posting here ten links to your Phoenix thread & get 500 blessings.

There are actually CF rules that can be used to determine if your "off topic" posting in these old threads violates the guidelines here. No matter what the age of the thread is, to divert from the topic and post irrelevant information can be classed as spamming, and by doing so you run the risk of being reported by other members and having posts deleted or possibly being warned, depending on whether you've had posts removed in the past. I'd say that the vast majority of members do not appreciate people who post meaninglessly and off topic, so I'd encourage you to consider whether activities liek this are in the true spirit of CF Thanks

Couldn't we post here as a kind of registration and a supervisor just stipulate some rules to us. I would guess that reviving a dead thread would be in the spirit of CF?

You could change the rules (make a new post too) and have it that we have to resurect a dead thread in keeping with the original post and have 2 people reply to it. That would not be in violation of the rules and actually add to the activity of the forum.

We could have a lurking thread - one that just shows up from time to time and adopts the topic of whatever the poster posts, and call it the lurker - put one on each forum

wow, how'd he resurrect his bird? Last night it was bloated & decaying & giving off gas, totally gross, I had to leave CF & go throw up at the stench then lay down for 6 to 8 hours & rest my eyes I was so traumatized!!
