Hi,
I was given this link and thought I'd check it out. I have a very big problem with manic depression, and panic attacks.
Over the past few days I have noticed sertain noises trigger my panic. Like some melodies in music.

Hey Ash girl Sometimes that can be related to abuse...i have bad panic attacks if i can hear someone towards me but i can't see them...or if i hear my cats playing at night...cause i can't see what it is...hugs for ya

Yes i hear things at night and they freek me out.. Or when I'm in the store I get upset with no real reason.

I think it was louder more unexpected sounds. Music with words don't do this.. only instramentals. Some guy in the sound crew at the theator at the fair was playing instramentals.. might be the loudness but I had to leave work early.. couldn't control my attacks.

Yeah, music has an amazing effect on us. That's the way God made it...but sometimes it just works opposite that. I've noticed the same thing with my depression. Something to do is to do something you love while playing the music...this should revert it. If not, try talking to someone certified in this area.

Being startled and hating the sounds of certain pleasant/normal everyday things can be a sign on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Please get the help you need with a good therapist and meds if needed.
