When i started cutting my arms,i never thought...at 1st..."what will i tell my childern when they ask what are they scars from mommy"it never crossed my mind..but now Wednesday is ALMOST 6months and i have a few tats that cover up the bad ones..but i wonder,have any of you had your kids ask or young adults ask you about yours?

My nieces and nephew ask what mine are depending on there age i either tell them the truth or i tell them it was the cat ( i have two cats )

My 18 year old , 17 year old niece and 14 year old nephew knows its self injury
My 8 year old and 10 year old nieces think there cats scratches.
Am also working my way of getting tattoos over my cuts but its just affording to get them and me actually stopping self injury

Im not a mother but I have had the same thoughts. I have had my nephew so far ask and its hard to explain to him. Ive never been able to tell the whole truth to him. It breaks my heart for him to see them and I wish I could explain to him but Im lost on how to tell him the truth and he is 16. I just always change the subject with him and occupy him with somthing else so we dont have to talk about it.
