I agree that it is good to have compassion for wrong people, but it is not good to support and approve of what they are doing that is wrong.

Yes, Jesus loves them, but Jesus said to go and sin no more. But also He said let the one without sin cast the first stone; so we are not to throw stones at anyone, but we need to first be busy with seeing how we ourselves can be wrong.

So, while a group might be right about how someone else is wrong, they need to see however they themselves can be wrong, too.

We all know the phrase, "Love the sinner, hate the sin." Bishiop Tobin needs to show he loves all the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people who will particpate in Rhode Island's Pride Month activities. Not one verse in the New Testament even mentions romance bisexuality and "transgender" means a person's sex changed. What would harm children is teaching them LGBT people are evil.

OK, so the Bishop does not agree with Pride because it goes against his conscience. He is entitled to his point of view.

I would be more interested to hear what exactly the Bishop is doing to combat the stigma, marginalisation, violence and discrimination suffered by LGBT people in his own community. Surely in his role as a Christian leader, it is his responsibility and calling to reach out to the marginalised, to tackle anti-LGBT bullying, anti-LGBT prejudice in the workplace, to bring the love and compassion of Christ to where it is most needed.

Especially for a Bishop, Pastor, Elder,Deacon, or Priest.

What the heck is going on in this world.

What happened to we love the sinner but, not the sin?
