We got to see a heartbeat!! She said all looks good but she said the baby measures about 8 weeks and a few days, and i thought i was 9 weeks and one day.

yeah, the dating isn't completely correct, seeing as you had an irregular cycle before concieving this baby, just as I did when I concieved mine. So it is ok to be measured a week or two behind.

just add the number of days that is different to the date you thought was your due date.

My sister found out at her first OB visit that she was an entire month farther along than she thought. I guess her last period was implantation bleeding.

One thing to take into consideration, if you have a tilted (aka retroverted or tipped) uterus, you can (notice I say 'can' and not 'will') look up to two weeks behind. I have a tilted uterus and knew to the day when I conceived this last time and any other day would have been impossible (I was out of the state the following day!) and the transvaginal u/s put me almost two weeks behind. Same thing happened with my first. I talk to women all the time who knew exactly when they conceived and wonder why the u/s is off so much and they all have a tilted uterus.

Anyhow, if you do have a tilted uterus, it will usually be pushed into proper position by the beginning of the second trimester and your later ultrasounds will be much more accurate. In fact, with both my children, after 16 or 17 weeks, my ultrasounds were pretty much spot on and I had more than 25 of them with my son.

However, if you do not have a tilted uterus, the early ultrasounds are much more accurate in terms of dating but still prone to human errors.

THey can't always tell when the baby is going to be due.

My SIL thought she was going to be due at the end of next March, but found out she was about 4 weeks further into the pregnancy than she thought.

So now her due date is early March, and her first child turns one at the end of January. She's going to have her hand full.

My two oldest are 15 months apart, too. I thought it would be so much work, and it was a little harder, especially when I had to carry 2 kids at a time (like in a parking lot). But in the long run it was pretty great. They are so close in age that they have been able to be each others playmates from early on. They are so close they are like best friends. They are great for each other. (except when they're fighting!)
