Has anyone thought about Job? God gave Job over to satan in this
story.Thru it all Job stood strong in the Lord. He also lost it all.
In the end he came out on top but more importantly stronger in faith
and spirit. I don't think that this happens allot in this same
fashion however, pay close attention to the fact that the Lord was
watching and he gave satan rules that he could not brake. Yes the
Lord allowed this to happen but he also was there and with Job. When
satan comes calling at your door remember greater is he that is in
you than he that is in the world. Prayerfully read Job. There is
something in this story for us all.
God bless

Well, thank you guy for this message. I have been around this "new" forum that gets me very confused... Anyway, thanks for this post, since I have been looking for some words of hope and edification. All I have found in this place is everything... people trying to help with his own wisdom, trying to be the best advicer... the best counselor... the best story teller... the best contender... trying to demonstrate we know Scripture better than anyone...using every thing they have in their minds, but Jesus... where is Jesus in all this place? Too much letters and words, but I can not see Jesus...
I think this place will stumble very soon...
REMEMBER ONE THING:
IF YOU EAT OR DRINK OR DO ANYTHING ELSE... DO IT FOR THE GLORY OF GOD.
1 CORINTIOS 10:31

Guttman.

I rebuke that in the name of Jesus!
Speak edification, don't tear down the community.
Pray for it since you deem it problematic.
This is a place of deeper sharing and education,
this forum is a place for Christians to congregate.
I acknowledge that the group has problems, yet
the Body of Christ must work together to solve
such things. Every member of the body is needed,
let the big toe start acting up...regardless one won't
amputate the big toe just because it hurts. And the
toe is but a small member, yet still needed, and essential.
It is small but has large use on the foot, and is an indespensible
part of the body, as is all else. I pray that from your mouth
blessings flow and not curses about the body of Christ.
Love in Christ - Shinja -

I agree. Yet presently, aren't the same rules still in place?
Such that Satan can try a child of God but not lay his hands
on him? That the Lord says "touch not mine annointed"?
We are still under his protection and the devil is but a lion
roaring without teeth.

Thanks for the post and it is always an encouragement.

I don't pretend to be a biblical scholar, or know the word of God any better than your average Joe on here. However, I do know one interesting fact about the book of Job. The "happy ending" (vs 42:10-17) was added later as an afterthought.

To me Job has always stood as a symbol of patience and endurance in the face of adversity. We can only hope to prove as faithful when the trials and tests of life come our way.

as you can see from my name, I have a slight affinity to the book of job. I went thru a life threatening heart surgery 6 weeks before my wedding, lost my job( where I work) a few months later and then my grandfather died as well as my family dog that was there for 12 years. I had a bad year and I was trying to search my heart as to why God was putting me thru this. then I began to read the book of Job. it meant that God was testing me just like he had Job and he wanted to see how strong our faith truly is. After all that happened I was at my parents house which is in the country and I laid in the grass. my heart was full of anquish and I was praying to God to speak to me. I looked up in the sky and asked him to take the weight (I am wiping away tears right now) of my heart. I then had a rush of love over my body and I realized that he was saying (I need a tissue) I am here for you no matter what dont ever give up on me because I love you and will always hold you in my arms.

anyway that is my story and I hope that spread a little light on how the Lord will bless us all if we do our best to past the test.

"All things work together for good to those that love God and are the called according to His purpose" - It's good to see that you will love God and testify of that love without regard to circumstance. I'm sure you will be blessed and kept as the apple of His eye.
