There are 2 seeds to be considered:flesh and spirit.
1 Peter 1:
22 Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit
in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart,
23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through
the word of God which lives and abides forever,
24 Because All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass.
The grass withers, and its flower falls away,
25 But the spoken word of the Lord endures forever.
Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.
Hebrews 8:
4 For if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are priests who
offer the gifts according to the law;
5 who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, See that you make
all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.
6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator
of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.
Psalms 89:
3 I have made a covenant with My chosen, I have sworn to My servant David:
4 Your seed I will establish forever, and build up your throne to all generations. Selah
Psalms 132:
10 For Your servant David’s sake,
do not turn away the face of Your Anointed.
11 The Lord has sworn in truth to David;
He will not turn from it:
I will set upon your throne the fruit of your body.
12 If your sons will keep My covenant and My testimony which
I shall teach them, their sons also shall sit upon your throne forevermore.
Romans 1:
3 concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David
according to the flesh,
4 and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness,
by the resurrection from the dead.
5 Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith
among all nations for His name,
6 among whom you also are the called of Jesus Christ.
John 3:
5 Jesus answered, Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water
and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Do not marvel at what I said to you, You must be born again.
Psalms 22:30 A seed shall serve him;
it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
Zephaniah 3:9 For then I will restore to the peoples a pure language,
That they all may call on the name of the Lord,
To serve Him with one accord.
Daniel 7:14 Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom,
That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away,
And His kingdom, which shall not be destroyed.
How can we clearly define "the church" in the first place?
Certainly not the wide variety of manifestations of religious denominational-ism
in the world today. From the scriptures cited, one possible way would be "those
(regardless of natural origin) who are born again from above by faith, who
serve Him in humility with their spirit, in the Gospel of the Kingdom of God."
I acknowledge that more can be said, but this is a start.
Romans 1:9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel
of His Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers.
Romans 7:6 But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what
we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and
not the oldness of the letter.
Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ,
Who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God,
cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Malachi 3:
16 Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another,
And the Lord listened and heard. So a book of remembrance was
written before Him for those who fear the Lord and who
meditate on His name.
17 They shall be Mine, says the Lord of hosts,
On the day that I make them My jewels. and I will spare them
As a man spares his own son who serves him.
18 Then you shall again discern between the righteous and the wicked.
Between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.
