  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Last night in a dream I had revelation of sorts, which I only remember in part, but the part that came to me was the piercing of Jesus. This mystery is spoken of in Revelation 1:7 “Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.”

We know by scripture that Jesus’ body was pierced by the Roman soldiers, we also see this prophesied in Psalm 22:16 “For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.”
We know those Roman soldiers who literally pierced Jesus’ body are long dead and buried, so who was the Lord speaking of in Revelation 1:7 when he said every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him?
I believe that verse has a much deeper spiritual meaning. When we recognize that Jesus Christ is the Word of God made flesh then we can begin to understand the meaning of that verse in Revelation 1:7. After all the Word of God is the Truth, the Way, and the Life: so if anyone speaks contrary to this Truth they also symbolically pierce him.

In my dream last night this is the verse that first came to me to reveal this thought. Isaiah 27:1 “In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.
Leviathon the serpent is also the great red dragon, or Satan, which is also known as the Devil, who is as Jesus said the father of lies. So this piercing serpent is the one who symbolically pierces the Truth which is in the body of Christ (which body we are also a part of.) So in effect what the Roman soldiers had done to the literal Body of Jesus, man has also done to the Word of Truth with his lies.

We are told in Zechariah 12:10; “And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.”

This prophecy speaks of the time when God’s grace and mercy shall return to the children of Israel. But being in the future there was no way they could literally look upon the body of Jesus whom they had pierced, but they would later look upon the Truth when the Lord reveals it to them. And when they saw the Truth in Christ, then they would also see with shame how they pierced Him by believing in a lie.

It is written in Proverbs 12:17-20; “He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit. There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health. The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment. Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.”:amen:

Speaking of this, I must bring up that I do not believe that Christ will any longer have the holes where he was pierced in his hands or feet, for Christ expects us to believe without seeing and also it doesn't make sense that he would keep the scars of his piercings in the members of his body that he will continue to use. Should he wear the scars as a painful reminder of his death on the cross for the rest of eternity? No, I do think his members will be regenerated that he may not have to be reminded, plus, again, he must use those members. And those members were not made to have holes in them, why would he then keep scars in his hands and feet when they weren't originally meant to be that way? It would only make sense that Christ would return to his original form, for he is God. Why would he allow the scars of his death to remain as if he would wear them proudly? Unless of course, he would keep them to prove everything to everyone, which Christ shouldn't have to do, esp when he expects us to have faith without seeing evidence to prove it, for he is a trustworthy God as he is the truth, therefore he shouldn't have to prove himself. Would he also keep the many scars of the lashes on his back? And the hole in his side? I don't think so, for it would be a constant painful reminder of the torment he had to endure, and such agony doesn't belong in heaven where there is no pain or sorrow. Who would want to be reminded all the time of the way they were brutally put to death? And who who loves someone would be reminded the same thing of the person they love? It would take too much away from the bliss of heaven.

Also, it is written that we shall know Christ no more after the flesh.

2 Corinthians 5:16
Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

I have found an interesting translation of this passage;

So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! -2 Corinthians 5:16-17

It seems to me that the true meaning of this passage is that 'we' (and the sense of the word we here is really they who have put their faith in Christ) have passed from old to new, and in doing so, have had their eyes opened to looking at things, including Christ, in a whole new perspective and light, which allowed them to see things how they truly are. We in our old sinful nature see things so obscure, and therefore our judgments or "evalutations" of others are blind and inaccurate, for they are based on a worldly and also foolish perspective, but we in our new heavenly nature in which we are transformed into when we come to Christ see things clearly, and therefore our judgments and/or evalutaions of others are righteous and true. He's saying that we knew Christ based on a human point of view before truly coming to know him, just as Paul considered the name of Christ blasphemy, but now we know Christ as he is from a godly point of view. We know him according to the spirit, though we once knew him according to the flesh, which reminds me of this passage;

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure. -1 John 3:1-3

Anyways, just offering a different insight, but I think that's what it truly means.

Isa 27:1 (YLT)
In that day lay a charge doth Jehovah, With his sword--the sharp, and the great, and the strong, On leviathan--a fleeing serpent, And on leviathan--a crooked serpent, And He hath slain the dragon that is in the sea.

Isa 27:1 (ESV)
In that day the Lord with his hard and great and strong sword will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan the twisting serpent, and he will slay the dragon that is in the sea.

why does kjv and esv say "the piercing" when "bariyach" does not seem to mean that?

H1281 בָּרִיַח בָּרִַח bariyach (baw-ree'-akh) (or (shortened) bariach {baw-ree'-akh}) adj.
1. a fugitive
2. the serpent (as fleeing)
3. the constellation by that name

another example of "bariyach":

Job 26:13 (YLT)
By His Spirit the heavens He beautified, Formed hath His hand the fleeing serpent.
Job 26:13 (KJV)
By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.

can someone explain how bariyach means 'the piercing"?

here is this though:

Ps 140:3 (YLT)
They sharpened their tongue as a serpent, Poison of an adder is under their lips. Selah.

H8150 שָׁנַן shanan (shaw-nan') v.
1. to point (transitive or intransitive)
2. intensively, to pierce
3. (figuratively) to inculcate

Ps 22:16 (KJV)
For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.

Ps 22:16 (ESV)
For dogs encompass me; a company of evildoers encircles me; they have pierced my hands and feet-

Some Hebrew manuscripts, Septuagint, Vulgate, Syriac; most Hebrew manuscripts like a lion [they are at] my hands and feet

Ps 22:16 (NET)
Yes, wild dogs surround me – a gang of evil men crowd around me; like a lion they pin my hands and feet.

H3738 כָּרָה karah (kaw-raw') v.
1. (properly) to dig
2. (figuratively) to plot
3. (generally) to bore or open

H738 אֲרִי אַריֵה 'ariy (ar-ee') (or (prolonged) earyeh {ar-yay'}) n-m.
1. a lion

Isa 27:4-5 (YLT)
Fury is not in Me; Who giveth Me a brier--a thorn in battle? I step into it, I burn it at once. Or--he doth take hold on My strength, He doth make peace with Me, Peace he doth make with Me.

"Fury is not in Me" I believe those words alone show the truth of how God is only good and love. our truth of Him is like a thorn that stabs him, terrible but then after that we can see his inward parts and we are transformed. we are the wicked fury that speaks such horrible and terrible lies about Him but when we stab into him it is now said "Fury is not in Me" for we become transformed and are not then the old man who was overcome by the blood of Jesus. now having the blood cover us and showing us the truth we too can speak things not of fury but of who our husband really is.

I see God stepping into a brier and therefore we become one with him this way. and the thorn is burned to nothing, as he is a consuming fire and consumes us in his love. we take hold of him when we stab through him and then see the blood of him. this is the way we take hold of his strength and this is the way we make peace with him.

it is said "He doth make peace with Me, Peace he doth make with Me." this is showing the marriage of us to him. how close we now are with him. it is as the bride and the bridegroom married so they say it twice but as one person. there is a huge mystery in Isaiah 27 and I only see it in part. the strength is love though, His love. we are truly at peace with him, as we are hidden in him and he in us. there is no division so then there is only peace. who makes a division but carnal men? but we are born again, we make peace with all things and show the errors of carnal men. carnal men say that there is fury in God, but we have no fury. I was once the same thorn, saying "there is fury in God" but now I stabbed him i know the truth, there is no fury in him, only hot burning Love. I tried to destroy the character of God but he destroyed my character instead. thank God.

I don't see an end between the heel and the serpents head, they are one.

Speaking of briers and thorns...

Ezekiel 2:6
And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

Ezekiel 28:24
And there shall be no more a pricking brier unto the house of Israel, nor any grieving thorn of all that are round about them, that despised them; and they shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

Did they not give unto Jesus a crown of thorns upon his head to mock Him?

interesting, they are near scorpions, so it is as if it is both the human and the scorpion saying the words. now that must be a bad thing to be called a "rebellious house". we could apply basic christian logic to tell us what a scorpion and a house could be.

some thorn-type plants have poison in them. in the letter of barnabas he speaks of a type of thorn which is good food to eat. I know certain animals eat thorns for food too but I dunno if it is the same thorn that people can eat.

then I remember another thing about thorns, a good angel that is over the punishments of believers forces the sheep into a lot of thorns and forces it through that path and the thorns get all stuck in its wool. but this is done so that it may live and not die.

but the thorns Jesus suffered were not deserving but the ones from that good angel are deserving it seems.

I don't see an end between the heel and the serpents head, they are one.

What about if theres more no end between the same as it relates to head and tail, for example...

Exodus 4:4 And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Because here (the word hurt in relation to the same is used)

Rev 9:10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.

Rev 9:19 For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.

Its like you got, head and tails, and power to hurt in respects to both scorpions and serpents and in respects to both their tails, and power in mouths.

I know that ^ isnt saying much but just looking by way of comparing the wroding ^_^

Gotta head and tail sting of death creatures here

Oh well, gotta head out for awhile, catch chas later

Hey, before I go, do you guys think (in relation to the thorns also) having them "about" (as it speaks) and the wording "encompassed about" with infirmity, and Paul speaking of a thorn in his flesh (and rejoicing in his infirmities) being equal to a "messenger of Satan" and that woman bound with what was called a "spirit of" infirmity (from Satan) are the same in some way?

I dont know, I just noticed she was bowed DOWN and couldnt LIFT herself UP and how Paul was given one lest he EXALTED himself above measure. But then I noticed the same wording in one which actually does, he who exalts himself ABOVE all that is called God etc... shoot, I was looking at this in a study but I gotta bolt here, there was just this simililar wording the more I looked, when looking at the "vexing" and that which pertained to their sides and their eyes (as well).

For another day I suppose... catch chas later

Yes, just as we also can learn humulity and obediance by our own fleshy weaknesses,(infirmities) and we also for a time are given over to the consumer of the flesh, who also Christ came in the weakness of a fleshy body to deliver us from the destroyer, which is also the one who had been given power over the flesh by way of death, even the Devil.

Hebrews 5

1For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:
2Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.
3And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.
4And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.
5So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
6As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
7Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
8Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; 9And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Here's the other verse I was speaking of...

Hebrews 2:14
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
