One could still look at the quote and believe it was Mach's words. They'd hae to click on the actual link to see that it was not.

The easiest way to do something like that is to say "what you're saying can be worded differently to say the exact opposite and still be true" or something to that extent.

You may think it's silliness, but it's caused a lot of problems in the past.
