  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

To be honest, I was pretty disappointed. Thor is my favorite Avenger, and I really liked what Kenneth Branagh did with the first film. So I was kind of disappointed with Alan Taylor's portrayal of Asgard, and how underdeveloped the Dark Elves were. It kind of just felt like the film was nothing more than a vehicle to get Thor from Avengers to Age of Ultron...

I liked the Dark Elves in their look, but did have this problem with their portrayal. In the first combat scene in Asgard they were aggressive and ruthless fighters. By the end of the movie they were automatons just sort of walking about.

For some reason the sound was really messed up at the theater I saw it in. The music and sound effects were really loud and you had to listen hard to hear the dialogue lol.

I thought the movie was decent. Thor's my least favorite Avenger so I wasn't really anticipating this one much. I had fun watching the movie but it's probably my least favorite of the Marvel Universe right now.
I don't really 'dislike' any of Marvel's movies though XD
Er, except for maybe The Incredible Hulk.... I haven't had the motivation to sit and watch it the whole way through yet.

I think Thor is more of a comical sidekick then anything else. When I watch him its like watching a frat boy. If it didn't have the humor then I probably wouldn't watch Thor. Actually I think I like Loki more, without him I think the movies would also not be as good.

Hulk... ugh. I seen the first one. Didn't watch the second one (there was a second right?). Hulk is just a hero I don't care for. The only interesting fact is that he (when the Hulk) is invincible really. In the comics I believe he was thrown into the sun and still survived somehow. Which I think is the same story for Wolverine if I recall. But at least Wolverine is actually interesting to see and had a actual personality.

Thor 2 was the only super hero flick I loved the whole way through this year (worst for me was Iron Man 3, I hate it). It's also, imo, one of the strongest solo avengers flicks Marvel has made.
