  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

This seems like fun!

Ok, so how's your day been

Pretty good, thanks for asking :) Got up early and then went to work after a couple weeks break, I took some time off earlier to prepare for the exam on Friday. Visited my parents and had a nice long walk with my old dog-friend Repe to shake-off the last remnants of studying stress.

What are you planning to do tomorrow?

I'll be stuck at work pretty much all day.. -.- Although it's nice to get some variation after having had my nose mostly glued to the books lately. When I get home I think I'll go grab the entry-exam books for the faculty of theology from my local R-Kioski, they have been sitting there since Thursday.. and maybe take a quick look at them. I think I'll take a couple extra days off before really digging into them, though.

Do you have any plans for the next five years?

I'm hoping to start studying at the uni, that would pretty much keep me occupied atleast those five years ^^ But other than that no major plans yet; I'll have to see what happens this spring with the exams etc first. I sure hope to meet new people, learn a lot and experience new things.

If you had to pick one town where you'd live for the rest of your life what would it be?

That's a tough one. The ideal one would be rather small town/city, like 5-50k people, rich natural enviroment, somewhere where there isn't 4 months of total darkness like in Finland. I like winter but dislike the duration of day =/ Maybe a town/smaller city in the southern europe. But it's really hard to say :p From Finland I'd like a small town not too far from a bigger center. I don't think I could leave Finland for forever though. But you never know.. = )

Yes, it's going to be Helsinki after all :) It just has so much more positive things going for it, Joensuu would have meant literally starting from scratch as I don't have any acquintances there or anywhere nearby.

If I pass the exam, I'm thinking to hopefully graduate from Helsinki Uni without making a hassle with changing Unis or stuff, I checked into that stuff and it seems too tricky. It would probably suck to leave for another city just after settling in as well. I'm certain I can pursue further studies after graduating if they seem beneficial.

What is your favorite thing about yourself?

Maybe my sociality and openess. Can't be in that mindset always, though.

What is an experience in your life that has taught you the most?

A crisis in friend relationships a few years ago. It humbled me and taught me lot about myself, God and life in general.

Where do you live at the moment?

In a smallish city about 100km from Helsinki. Next autumn I will relocate to Helsinki - hopefully to study - though, it's time for a change :)

Finn Finn or Swede Fin?

I'm actually have a Swedish passport as well as a Finnish one.. But I'm not a Swede Finn ;) Both my father and mother are native Finns, but my father moved to Sweden when he was in his late teens and lived there for about 15 years. He changed his nationality during his time there because he thought he wouldn't return to Finland.

Do you fish?

I love fishing and do lots of it when I have the oppurtunity, especially at our family's summer cabin

If your life was turned into a song, where would the chorus be?

I truly can't say. I'll try to come up with something :)

On a second thought this bit from a Neal Morse has a special value for me

Oh, Father I've returned
I'm sorry I was wrong
I feel so undeserving
After all I've done
And I see your open arms
And I know that I have found my place of rest
In the Father of forgiveness
Oh, Father of forgiveness

Whats your favorite book in the Bible?

I don't have a single favorite, I'd say the whole New Testament is my favorite :)

Do you ever write letters to old friends?

Nope. None of my old friends are really into writing letters :/

Have you ever been to the United States? If so, what part(s)?

Not yet, but I want to see the west coast sea, summer and sun someday.

Have you ever written a love letter? :)
If so, how did you start it?
If not, how would you start it?

If its not too personal to answer.

I fear I'm not a super creative writer but I could see myself writing a love letter, haven't written one yet, though.. I think the start and the overall style would depend on the person I'd write it to. :)

how did you find CF?

I can't remember exactly. For a couple years, I lurked on a Finnish Christian forum where the quality of the discussion isn't too good and is rather limited in terms of theological diversity. At the time I was still pretty new to Christianity and was trying to find a forum where there would be members of different denominations posting.. somehow I ended up here and still here I am :p
