Ok, after diving through pages of other peoples threads I have came to the conclusion that this could actually be a lot of fun.

I have read the players guide and plan to make a character I just have no clue where I should start.

Some boards have not had activity for over 30 days. I want to go where the action is. Waiting for 10 days to get a reply to my characters actions is not my idea of fun lol.

After I Figure out my character what would be the best course of action for me to take

Oh, I forgot to mention. I have five years of table top AD&D experience to bring a long. Not so sure how well I can write out my characters actions but that is what spell check is for right?

I really do think it would be a lot of fun and I can't wait to get into a good thread.

I know you are looking for a thread, and I am somewhat new to this too. My suggestion is to find a thread that is just starting out that way you know exactley what is going on. You can also create multiple characters, so you dont have to limit yourself to the "perfect" character every time. the easiest way is to look at any active threads in the OOC forum.

a lot of the threads in the 'New World' section are active, but most of them don't have an OOC thread, whereas Christia related RPG usually have one.

don't feel daunted checking out a seemingly long thread. Two of the RPG i'm participating in have been at it for months and we're still at the beginning!

Two new players have just joined 'A Time of Trial' RPG in 'The Lost King' strand.. well, just something to think on if you're looking for RPG that accepts new players.

sounds like you'll suit in 'The Portal of Destruction'. It's a fantasy RPG in the New World forum (without OOC thread) that is still waiting to be lifted off. (we're getting to it now)

and BTW, if you're thinking of joining a thread that HAS an OOC thread, please let the players know so they can help fit you into the story. Just to avoid clashes and confusion later on...

Throughout the years I mostly played dwarves in Ad&d. Get with me on some info about the story and we shall see what I can do.
