So, I woke up last night and couldn't sleep. I was flipping through the channels when I saw the Reverend Al Sharpton on Carson Daly. I stopped briefly to see what he had to say as he is often a source of amusement and then anger. Why do I do this to myself? Don't know.
Anyway, just as I stopped, Carson is asking Al how he, a man of the cloth, can reconcile his stand on abortion and gay marriage. Al says, "I love all people. I don't necessarily believe that what they do is right, but I don't condemn them for it either. Jesus didn't condemn people for their behavior, He loved them. Just like when He met the woman at the well and told them not to stone her." WHAT?????
Now, I repeated his statement to my 10 year old daughter this morning and she looked at me like I was high on crack. She says, "No one was going to stone the woman at the well." So, I of course explained why I said what I said lest she think that I am an idiot.
So, in his stupidity, he fulfilled his purpose in my life. He made me laugh and then he made me mad. How can this guy claim Christ and claim he is a pastor and not know such basics in scripture? Worse, how can he be attempting to shape the future of our country based on his faulty view of God.
I posted this here, because I didn't want to hear from anyone who would defend him or whatever. I guess I am venting and sharing an amusing train wreck.
Another piece of useless information from me to you. Enjoy.
