I found this little item in my journal when I was reviewingit to update my CF Blog and thought I would share it:

Thinking of silence:
In silence it is the only time we can be sure that we are not hearing an untruth.
We are not being flattered by a salesman or convinced we need that we do not in fact need by advertisers.
Stories are stilled.
Excuses for failings are not heard.
Lies can not be uttered.
There is no need to wrestle with apocryphal or heretical theology.
The inner thought can be examined.
If everything else is quiet then there is only God left to be heard.

Thank you for sharing. Silence is golden for many reasons. This is the most important one. But it is so difficult to be really silent. If you are not talking, you might be thinking. If you are not thinking, you might be worrying. If you are not worrying, you might be dreaming... It's very difficult to be completely silent. But it's worth while. "God is a friend of the Silence" - said mother Theresa.
