Best thing for sore throat, etc. is to have soup with as much cayenne pepper as you can stand. Repeat at next meal. Normally it is gone in the first 24 hours.
Mucous drainage is one of the biggest reason for sore throats. Lemon will help cut the mucous.
For an intense cure for sinus infection start to cut up an onion and inhale the fumes. Don't stop till you're finished with the whole onion. Onions are one of the most natural antiseptic agents in nature. Even the fumes will cure sinus infections. It's best if you can chew on the onion and swallow just the juice but most people can't do that.
A couple of years ago a Naturopath (sp?) prescribed the following treatment for a friend of mine who had a severe sinus infection that antibiotics would not cure; it had went on for over two months:
12 oz glass of water as hot as you can drink in one draft. Mix one tablespoon (not the little teaspoon, a tablespoon) of ground black pepper in it and toss it back.
My friend told me that within minutes his sinus' started draining, and continued to do so until they were completely clear. They remain clear to this day.
He did say that he also had a severe need for an ointment the following day such as preparation H.
I've noticed that any oil like the chicken fat will dampen the "hot" in the pepper and bring out the real flavor. That's why hot wing sauces are so popular since they usually use butter to take the "ouch" out.
No butter on my wings. It's Frank's Red Hot right out of the bottle.
Always good to see you, JR!THE best non-Rx cure for sinuses is one teaspoon of salt plus one teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda in one cup of warm tap water. Once dissolved, snort the mixture up each nostril. It is very messy, but the hypertonic high pH solution is very toxic to all pathogenic bacteria (except Vibrio, but Vibrio doesn't grow in noses). Your bodies tissues find the solution an irritant, but not toxic.
However, the best thing, IMO, is to bring $500 to an internist's office and then venerate the ground he walks on.
Better yet, mail me the money.

I was wondering where you'd been!Hi all- testing my new avatar. Works been nuts- I haven't been around here for awhile! Hope everyone is doing well! I am tired- just finished our 5th batch of salsa. I think I made around 64 pints. Wish I could make 20 more but the tomatoes are tired out. So am I!
Germany- fun! I've never been anywhere out of the country- St. Thomas is the furthest I've ever been. Had a nephew (or, ex-nephew?) stationed over there for a few years and his parents went there every year to see him. Saw some neat pictures!Enough on noses..........................I get to go to Germany in November. I'm pretty excited about it.
Yeah, between arranging for transport of 100's of new cars to dealerships, putting a new door in the house, having a bug, making salsa and play practice- visiting here has kinda taken a back seat!I was wondering where you'd been!
Please don't laugh.....but I'm not totally sure where we are going. I think Munich. My hubby's boss is taking care of all the arrangements.....hubby never asks questions!Germany- fun!
