That's what sweatshirts and socks are for.
As to thermostats, I grew up in Michigan, where my parents tried to keep the thermostat around 68 during the day, and 65 at night. Here in Maryland, with a Maryland-bred husband, I get complaints when it's 70. But I don't like it higher than 72 even on the coldest days.

Oh you would laugh if you saw my hubby- he sits in the living room with a stocking cap and gloves! No, sweatshirts and socks are what you wear outside when it's cold. I'll be damned if I have to dress for the outdoors just to sit in my livingroom.
Amen brother.......minus the "damned"No, sweatshirts and socks are what you wear outside when it's cold. I'll be damned if I have to dress for the outdoors just to sit in my livingroom.
Our registers are in the ceiling here.

Ooh, you picked a bad place to live, huh. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to live somewhere that was warm all the time, but then again- I would be far from my family and friends and would have to join a different church.... Guess I'll stay where I am!Because of my fibromyalgia, I need the temp at 71 all the time. I don't like the bills, but it's better than the pain getting much worse.

My husband's a walking furnace and I just know we're going to butt heads over the radiator setting in our bedroom. I guess keeping him comfortable is a good idea, though, because when he gets hot, he throws the covers off both of us!!!
We're going to have to work into this sleeping together thing. It's not as easy as it looks.

Argh! I just got called arrogent in the OCD forum, in a neat little PM. I was also told that taking medication for OCD is an abomination. I used the one about Jesus using mud on a blind man in a post after that. Jesus did not need to use mud at all, but He did.
I'm just a little ticked, but I'll be fine. Is this something I need to work on? Even a baptist minister was on my team.
Our registers are in the ceiling here, Jim. Attics are the only place for ducts because homes are built on concrete slabs. It's hard to dig a basement in bedrock.
The radiators in the flat are not large and they're new, because it's a fairly new building. The have two sets of dials on them, but I've never been cold enough to need to mess with one when I was there. I'll bet I can tell you exactly how they operate in about 3 weeks, though. I've said the south of England was my least favorite region, but seeing how cold it's been oop north this winter, I'll not be complaining.
Do you have a humidity control unit in your central system, Jim?
