  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Sadly, I no longer can have cake. And I'm seriously considering giving up birthdays as well.

3 years ago today, I found out I had cancer.

Today? Today I found out I now have Type II diabetes.

I think I quit. *G*

Thanks for the wishes everyone! Now eat up all that cake so I'm not tempted!

Aww- what a bummer. So sorry to hear that- but- every diabetic I know says it's ok to have some Angel Food cake- so I'll bake u one of those next year!

Wow, the kitchen's been quiet lately!

Anyway, in light of my recent diagnosis and with bunches of prayer and consideration...not to mention I've been doing it for 21 years...I've decided to give up my Sunday School class.

I'm going to miss teaching the kids but I'm not going to miss dealing with the superintendents that think that Christmas Programs and Rally Day are "just for the little kids". *G*

And I'll be able to have time for myself now. Not to mention being able to study whatever comes to mind instead of whatever the lesson plan is for that week.

Pastor called and we talked it over. I think the biggest thing is, I'm burnt out. I love my kids but...it's just time.

Anyway...how is everyone else?

I am sooooo very thankful to God- not that I shouldn't always be, but we have been carried by him SO much lately. My DH is home from the hospital and even though he is still under Dr orders to stay COMPLETELY off his feet for at least 3 weeks, he is in much less pain now, and of course is now able to look forward to eventual recovery rather than feeling like he is in limbo.

People were at our house on Saturday and got the 2 sides painted that we really needed... our financial situation is looking a little brighter... my play is over so I can be home at night now.... I just have everything to be glad about and thankful for these days.

Now, if my daughter can just get her financial life together... well, that's another story- that I myself have only heard bits and pieces of becuase I know she doesn't want me to worry about her, as much as we have on our plate right now.

ctay, hope you can get some good rest.

Me? well, I am now home and trying to get back on my time zone. It is so much easier to adjust to a 13 hour time difference when you get there than it is when you get home. Must be the excitement and fun of vacation and the let down of returning home.

It is chilly today here. Well, after a week of 80's and 90's with sun and a beach, you would be feeling chilly with the temps of 50 too.

Wow, what about those gas prices? When I left, they were in the $3.50 range and yesterday, we paid $2.68. When you are away for 12 days, that is quite a drop there.
