Growing up, the football parties we attended were either for the Cowboys or the Vikings...makes sense as there were and are Minnesota transplants here either full time or as winter visitors. It synonymous with being Lutheran for me.

I've been overexposed!!!!!! Perhaps my upbringing in the Lutheran church is what kept me from having a twang like my friends whose churches had fewer foreigners.

So even though I'm not from Wisconsin...can I still say "Doncha know?"

The big Cincinnatian phrase is "Please?" when you don't understand something.

Most of the time, out of towners (or in towners if I'm out of town) will repeat please back at me. LOL

Just one of those things like chili on spaghetti and goetta.

That's like the Brits saying "sorry?" when they don't understand.

Just one of those things like chili on spaghetti and goetta.

Please tell me that is a typo. Chili should always be served as a separate entree WITHOUT beans.

Oh no. It's really quite delicious. Although, I agree about the beans. I like mine as a 4 way. (spaghetti, chili, cheese and onions. YUM)

If you ever want to try it, let me know and I'll send you a pack of the spices. It's really simple and it makes a nice sweetly spicy chili.

You mean the Spanish method of chili con carne vs. Southwestern US chili.

Does the recipe include chili powder AND Tabasco? Nothing like chasing a raging fire down your throat with an ice cold Shiner Bock.

Ever heard of Terlingua and the annual international chili cook-off? It's a huge event in the middle of nowhere and not too far from here.

I love Cincy chili, 4-way wet, with sour cream. And beer.

Hard Times (the chili parlor we go to) also has a Terlingua chili that is amazing.

Oh, and the Chili Bubba they offer is really good, too. (chili over corn bread)

Huh. Sour cream on Cincy chili. I've never heard of that. *G* I'll bet it's good though.

I like getting a bowl of Cincy chili and making a fat peanut butter sandwich and dipping it into the chili. Everyone I know thinks I'm disgusting for doing that but...it's really very very good.

WOW Becky! 81 here today and the humidity is down some. Had a coold front come through overnight. I wish I could share it with you. Sounds like you need it.

Edited: My son goes to Ft. Leonard Wood next week. Those look like some rather warm temps down that way!

Still haven't reached 100 here on the edge of west Texas and there is a tropical storm in the gulf so I hope it brings some relief of rain soon. We've not gone two weeks without rain since March.
