(actually, the one true church according them, which is apparently female)
Hey now! Trumpets can be soothingOurs are very liturgical. We do have a praise team and a youth choir, but they are pretty darn good and only sing one song at the start of the service and something soothing during Communion so it's tolerable. There are no tambourines, drums or trumpets, just a guitar.
Hey WildStrawberry! I'm in Ohio too. I'm in Kettering.I don't know of one in Orlando but, should any of you come to Milford, Ohio, I'd love to introduce you to my church. I think we've only ever had one "contemporary" service. After that, the laity spoke and said "we didn't feel fed!" and it hasn't happened again.
For me, I'd really miss the liturgy of the Divine Service. It's not about tradition but more of a comfort thing for me. I FEEL fed when I get all that I get from the DS.

Speaking of which, anyone know of one in the Orlando area they can recommend?
We will be vacationing in central Florida the end of May, first of June. We will be staying in Orlando and visiting the surrounding area. How far that is from Oviedo, I don't really know. I do plan on checking the LCMS website for churches and checking out the websites of ones listed. Just thought if someone could recommend one, that would be wonderful. How close are you to Oviedo? St. Luke's in Oviedo has a more liturgical service compared to many in Florida-Georgia district. You'll have to check their service schedule. St. Luke's is in the great SELC district!

I know, weird family, attending worship while on vacation. This trip is to look up long lost cousins and is also sort of a graduation gift for youngest son. (cousins not in the church, but who knows what may transpire while there)

Yes, yes, but you miss the point about their worship of "her" before Christ.Well, as the bride of Christ, the Church is feminine. It goes back to the Greek language and the word "ecclesia" which is a feminine word.
