  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My Little Bro, Jimmy is a sweetie, and there is no onionhead for that so the best I can do is this

I came in to say something much like what Jimmy means to me: Someone real--not into 'debate', got no ax he'd like to grind against me or anyone here, just someone I can hear and feel as a fellow, struggling human being in this fallen world...

And I am so grateful to know him in any way.

Getting back to myself after I've gone somewhere inside to hide, out of fear of conflict raging in me... I vented to my husband who is my best friend, and afterward, I was focused, energetic, goofy sweet to him (he worked from home 'for' me, today), and I feel so grateful to God for getting through to me, somehow, Hey, Carolyn, I created you, chill, baby girl, chill out

Resolved internal conflicts: Phew, while it's percolating in my psyche, wow, the distress, but once I recognize and correct the problem--after prayer (stillness, listening kind as much as 'Son of God, light my path...') and patience, and the released energy is amazing: focus, gentle with people, no discursive thought or pain rearing up to get my attention on 'it'.
