There is no place too dark

When Paul said he was the chief among sinners, he had never met me. My 40-year addiction to porn and lust led to the darkest places a human mind can travel. Without going into details to protect you the reader, I will only say I have seen every kind of perverse, violent, grotesque sexual deviancy man has constructed. The pit was so deep and so dark, the devil had me convinced I would never escape. It was a constant cycle of despair: Seek after my own desires, find and watch, be filled with fear and regret, abstain for a short time, repeat. I have not only watched, but found pleasure in things that would make most people vomit. But through ALL of that darkness, God never stopped pursuing me, and sometimes, God has to send his agents to rescue us.

Romans 13:1-4 says "Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which is from God. The authorities that exist have been appointed by God. Consequently, whoever resists authority is opposing what God has set in place, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Do you want to be unafraid of the one in authority? Then do what is right, and you will have his approval. For he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not carry the sword in vain. He is God’s servant, an agent of retribution to the wrongdoer."

God only pursues whom He has chosen, His children, and I am blessed beyond imagination to count myself among the Brethren. God has called me out of that dark pit and into the role of a Pastor to declare the truth of Jesus Christ to the world and help men and women escape the bondage of pornography. Hallelujah~
