TheoPhostic Counseling

Have any of you heard of or used TheoPhostic Counseling before? I just started it--and I think it's pretty cool. Basically, it's allowing yourself, through prayer to listen to what God is saying to you and allow Him to undo all the lies that Satan has had you believe.
I've only had one session and it was a pretty short one, but I think it's really neat. I'll be going into counseling after I graduate and I definitely want to learn how to do it. My therapist said that I could even learn to do it on my own.
Just wonderin' if any of you had heard of it or had tried it before...

The concept sounds neat.
It sounds related to cognitive therapy.

i have not heard of it, but i too went through therepy and all three of my therepists worked together and prayed for me.. and i with them. i think prayer and meditation is responsible for our our relationships with God: so it is a MAJOR healling to be in the prence of God.

i want you all to know that i started this therepy after God started to heal me.
the therepy helped me understand alot about my mental illnesses. if you are not in therepy, you can still pray and meditate. and prayer and meditation and fellowship are the most beautiful therepies. so the doctor stuff isn't what saved me. but it was able to become a spiritual strength. God has put all of my life without Him, and with Him... with the therepy and biblical living to use to reach out to others. !!

They do have training available for it - Google Theophostic Counseling and you'll find the main web site that lists times and dates for training sessions.

It does work...My husband and I have both been the recipients of theophostic counseling. The lady that we've gone to also has her Master's in counseling psychology, and worked as a professional counselor using the same methods for years before she learned about theophostic counseling. She jokes that "she was theophostic before it was cool."

i've heard of it .... and experienced it, and if it is done by someone who is experienced in the area and has a real heart for God ... it can be a really great way of counseling and being helped ..... from reading reviews online there is also a lot of bad publicity ... the person receiving the counseling really needs to have a good relationship with God and good knowledge of Him for it to be most effective ... i hope it is a great blessing to you
