• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hello again guys,

Recently, I have been looking at these great controversies in America and the world. Spying, Global Warming, that kind of stuff. My ocd has been spiking on stuff like "You haven't done your American duty, you should be ashamed!" Stuff along that line.

My question is this, how should a Christian view all of these kinds of things? What stances should we take?

It's a very confusing, gray world.

We should live in the world but not be of it. Don't attack like Gays for who they are show love and compassion truly to those who want to repent. Christ put a deposit in you which is the Holy Spirit so you have done your work by repenting. Don't worry the Father will teach you they way to go. Just live by faith. Your not supposed to understand it all but, just believe.

We must always look at things through a biblical worldveiw. We study scripture to get a understanding of what God thinks about things. And we take that truth and apply it to everything in our lives and the things around us. Remember, God is soverign over all, we can look to the Word for any instruction for anything you can think of, ie. spying, global warming, etc.... A good website is desiringgod.com --has some really good stuff about a lot of topics. Hope this helps.

I would just say that I think many issues are issues that the world is concerned about, but are not necessarily things that should be priorities for Christians. The whole global warming, green movement, for example. I know some may disagree with me and I could be wrong, but my feeling is this...As Christians, we should use common sense and attempt to be good stewards of the earth and its resouces. BUT...I think there are quite a few things the Lord would have us be involved with other than that which should take much higher priority. I think in a lot of cases people are worshipping "Mother Earth" over Father God if that makes sense. In my opinion and it is just my opinion, ;) waaay too much thought and time has and is being wasted on worrying about this issue.
