John 1:1 says, 1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

How many people have heard people tell you that you need to read your bible? I'm sure that all of us at one point and time has heard that said to us. But take your bible and cradle it like a baby. Why do that you ask? Because, the Word became flesh. Who's the Word? Jesus. So when you read your bible your reading Jesus. Why is it that scripture says in Hebrews that the Word of God is alive and active sharper than any double edged sword?( Heb 4:12) It is because Jesus is the bible. And Jesus is the Word. And Jesus is ALive!

Now Point 2. If I wrote a book about my life and who I was, and 10,000 people who didn't know me read it; then would you agree that I would get 10,000 different interpretations as to what I meant or was coming from. Now if all those people spent time with me, and then read my book, than would you agree that they would have a better understanding as to what I meant after reading my book. The answer is Yes. Your bible is the exact same way. You see without the Holy Spirit the bible is a closed book. The Holy Spirit is the author of the bible according to (2 Pet 1:20)
therefore without properly knowing the Holy Spirit, how then can you properly interpret the bible?

The Word of God is not the same as the word of God (i.e. the scriptures - these contain the words of God, the words of the devil and the words of men). John must be understood in his Jewish context, and to rightly understand this passage it helps if you are familiar with the Targums.

the latter paragraph is absolutely spot on.

I love what THE LORD Jesus Christ says without Him we can do nothing ..

Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ and being spiritually minded as Paul put it in Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
And if Christ [be] in you, the body [is] dead because of sin; but the Spirit [is] life because of righteousness.
reading all of romans 8 helps :)

this blessed my soul seeing what Jesus does

Luke 24: 44Now He said to them, "(AO)These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the (AP)Law of Moses and the Prophets and (AQ)the Psalms must be fulfilled."

45Then He (AR)opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,
46and He said to them, "(AS)Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and (AT)rise again from the dead the third day, 47and that (AU)repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to (AV)all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

the others that the LORD opens BibleGateway.com - Passage Lookup: Luke 24:32; Acts 16:14; 1 John 5:20
