How about, for a couple of minutes, we talk about the purity of Christ? How about we talk about His perfect work of redemption? How about the pain and agony He suffered on the cross for the sins of His people? How about the fact that He is our sole mediator to the Father? How about the fact that He loves His people with a perfect love?
Anyone want to join me in a thread "surveying the wondrous cross"?
Take a minute to write down something absolutely wonderful about Christ. Maybe this will remind us, including myself, what this is all really about.

I'll start. My elder Brother indured the pain of feeling absolutely forsaken by the Father. Because of His work, enduring this pain for me, I will never have to feel forsaken again!

Jesus loves me soooooooooo much.

He even stopped me in the middle of committing suicide.

He let me feel how broken hearted He was that I didn't trust Him to take care of me here.

He said, "How can you trust me in death and not in life?"

Jesus is my life. I have died and my life is hidden in Him. And I trust Him to take care of me now in life and in death!

Christ saved me from myself and the sin inside of me. He saved people I love dearly as well and is doing moreso every day. He is good to us when we deserve none of His goodness.

I like these verses alot:

Hbr 1:1 God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways,
Hbr 1:2 in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.
Hbr 1:3 And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
Hbr 1:4 having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they.



Hbr 2:14 Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
Hbr 2:15 and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.
Hbr 2:16 For assuredly He does not give help to angels, but He gives help to the descendant of Abraham.
Hbr 2:17 Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
Hbr 2:18 For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.

Brethren in Christ, Peace be with you.

It pains me always how each time I sin, He suffers in that garden. I think of each sin of mine as creating more pain for Him and adding to the drops of blood sweating from His body. How each sin of mine is a slap of the whip, a thorn of the crown, a jeer from the guards, a wad of spit from the crowd, a splinter in His back, the scrape of a rock upon His knee and a nail into His body. How each sin made every step that He took on that walk to His place of crucifixion all the more difficult and even so, during that walk, He allowed a human to come out and help Him bear the weight of sin by carrying His cross. And ultimately, How by His death, He freed me from the slavery of sin, giving me and all man hope of eternal life.
