The "War Between God & satan"......

If enough of you are interested and willing to participate, I would like for us all to have a discussion regarding this whole "God At War With satan & satan At War With God" thing..........

I realize that this concept is just a Christian offshoot of the whole "Good vs. Evil" philosophic mindset that has permeated human civilization since its original conception....

But, I have never understood how anyone can think that such a "war" even exists and, even if it did, how they can think that such a lopsided conflict could even be categorized as an actual "war"......

I mean, if we take what most Christians believe---that satan is nothing more than an angel or archangel created by God---then it would seem his inferiority to God would immediately dictate the idea that a "war" between he and God would be the equivalent of a "war" between an elephant and a cockroach......

.....Or a "war" between the United States of America and the tiny nation of Monaco..........

Yet, many times in my life---over and over---I hear believers talk about this supposed "war" as if both sides were evenly matched or something.....

As if the enemies of God (i.e., satan) stand a snowball's chance in Mt. Pinatubo of ever even winning a single battle, let alone the "war" itself.....

Anybody else like to discuss this??

Just how could Satan win against an omnipotent & omniscient being?

Well stated. We know that God is the victor and there will be skirmishes until Christ's second coming.

People are not all good, and so there is an internal and social striving against evil.

There is no war. In the Bible you see the devil ask permission to various tasks (i.e. Book of Job, Gospel of Matthew). God allows the devil to run amuck for whatever reason God has purposed. Satan only has what power is allowed by God.

Satan also has power over those who willingly are deceived by him. This is why we are not to be tricked by Satan. So, satan is a mere tool to weedout true believers and to strengthen the believers on our faith.
