Great way to think of our relationship with Jesus.
We are the fruit bearing vines. However we are not to produce the fruit, simply to bear them. Jesus is the one who blesses us with the ability to bear the fruit.
What do farmers do when there is a rotten grape on the vine? They cut it off. Jesus does the same. When there is something blocking or obstructing us in our lives, Jesus removes it. It may be hurtful/tough at first, but if we follow Jesus it will all be wonderful in the end.
