We all encounter things that cause us grief, make us angry, frustrated, upset, and/or disappointed. While we do take our problems to Jesus and pray for resolution to the problems, and we all have family and friends that will listen to us, it is necessary to let it out elsewhere.

This thread is for those times when our family and friends have listened but not heard, or we've just been angered on the boards here or on the job. This is a place where we can come and drop off our complaints about things said elsewhere, whether here or IRL. Feel free to vent, scream, or cry. Even if it's to put in the angry emoticon, that could help. And that's the reason for this thread: to help us get beyond the frustration, anger and disappointment.

Some basic rules apply: those of CF itself. So please no flaming or inciting of other members and no foul language. In other words, please use common sense. If someone vents, and you want to offer advice, feel free, but do so out of love. This is a judgment free zone.

The floor is now open.

Here's a vent about work.

We have reviews coming up. My boss that handles the reviews came up with the genuis idea to have the three of us girls (myself and the two Inside Sales girls) review each other. I have known about this for a while, but the other two just found out yesterday. I came in today and it was the first thing they brought up. They are freaking out. They don't like the idea - neither do I. However, rather than comply, they want to conspire and complete the evaluations together behind the boss' back.

I'm stuck between just filling the one out that I have to do and going back to my boss and telling her that her idea is backfiring.

 :help:

I just had a physical 5 days ago with my Doc I haven't had an appt with in years. He actually looked at my throat and had me say ahhh and felt for lymph nodes. He didn't mention anything, but I had already felt a few nodes that I just attributed to my sinuses and wasn't worried about. I decided to look this morning after waking up again with a sore throat and my right tonsil is huge with white stuff on it. So I go to a local clinic for a nuse evaluation since there are no appts. anywhere until 3 pm (my HMO), and the receptionist looks like I'm annoying her by being there. The nurse asks what she can do for me and I tell her my symptoms. She asks again what can I do for you? She doesn't know I'm a nurse and I know this kind of questioning can be effective with other cultures when you're trying to determine what some obscure symptoms might mean especially if the health care provider does not have a clear idea of what is going on, but this just seemed stupid. I asked her if she could take a culture of my throat. She did and then sent me to drop it off at the lab. She didn't take my temp, ask me if I had any neck pain (to rule out life-threatening meningitis), or ask anything else. I look bad because I keep waking up early and have some serious bags under my eyes.

I am so disappointed with my organization right now. I intend on sharing the information with my organization in the hopes that the members get the care they deserve and are paying for. Now I'm going to lie down and see if I can get in a nap.

I've been flirting with a lady for awhile now. She's been flirting back and I think showing some interest although she might be in a long distance relationship. Last weekend there was a party that she brought a quiche to. I had told her before that she made a really good quiche (I wasn't hitting on her, it really was good) and in addition to the big party quiche, she brought a small one for me.

I thanked her but didn't get much of a chance to talk with her at the party because she was helping hostess the thing.

Anyway, I mentioned the "personal" quiche to a couple female friends. One is yelling at me for not asking the lady out on the spot and the other is saying, "hey, it's just a quiche, no biggie, she was being nice".

So I'm very confused now and scared I blew it with her. Heck, I thought it was just like getting a plate of cookies at Christmas from my neighbor. The problem is I'll probably see her tonight at another function and then she rolls out of town for the weekend (to see the boyfriend?).

I feel like a dog chasing his tail on this one.

I think you need your own thread for this one. I think you'll find plenty of people who will give advice and want to know how this situation unfolds. She may just be nice, but if she's busy like many of us this means she thought of you and took the time to do this for you. When you see her next and thank her again, that might be a good time to repay the quiche with a coffee (date).

I hope you are getting the rest you need and will be feeling better very soon!

I get frustrated when I have to go to the urgent care clinic, but since I don't have a primary set up right now, I just hit the clinic when I'm sick. I never have to wait long at the one I go to, which is nice - but I also get herded in and out in rapid form. I wish I could find a nurse/doctor that would ask more thorough questions like you mentioned.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. Just seems pointless to me if the reviews are going to be "fixed" by the other two. :|

Well at least your boss will have the heads up that the other two are fixed, and it might not go so well for them either, but you would be doing the right thing IMO.

My vent concerns a boss who has 'pets'. She was ready to not allow me to have my vacation (even though it had been on the calender for over a month) just because for some reason, she doesn't like me. There is another girl, who she does like, but has about 8 years less seniority than me, that she told that she definatly had her vacation, not to worry. My direct supervisor, though, told me that she was scheduling my vacation, though, regardless, because I did have seniority over the other girl. We have several new hires, too, so shifts were covered! And, I got my vacation!!

Yea, me too. Our former manager wasn't like that. Unfortunately, he was trransferred to another store last year, and by the end of 2007, was no longer with our company. he just didn't like being at the other store, and had no way out of it! I am certainly enjoying my vacation!

I'm still on about cell phones. I get that they're necessary evils and sometimes come in handy. But do you really need to be on one - - not using a bluetooth or anything - - when you're backing out of a parking space? Don't you kind of need more than one hand? And why is it that people who do use cellphones while driving - - again, not using a bluetooth - - are the most aggressive, discourteous drivers?

I just don't get it.

I don't either, JD. I don't use mine like a lot of people do, but if mine rings while I am backing out, I'll check the voice mail at the next stop light!

I'm starting to think my Dr. was being sneaky and didn't want me alarmed while he was going to be out of town this weekend. In order for my lab results to be viewable to me he has to release them. The only ones that weren't released was my complete blood count. I think he might've felt my enlarged lymph nodes and started thinking I might have leukemia like my mom so he didn't want me seeing my wacked out labs while he was gone. Little did he know I had some other illness brewing.
