What are they? Are they different? My pastor preached an awesome message on this tonight and cleared up a lot of things for me. Now I want to hear others opinions. After I hear yours, I will give mine, but I can't right now as I don't have time to compose it all.

PS-I would prefer for everyone to have scriptural back-up available.:)

Both are one. Sin is rebellion against God. God is willing to forgive ALL repented sin. The problem is that repentance; to repent, you have to acknowledge God, your tresspass, and so hate it that you will do all in your power to avoid it - this is not to say you can, or must, succeed in avoiding it; but then, neither is it to say you can have a 'casual' attitude about falling again ...

So, then, it should be obvious there is one sin that is impossible to repent of, without abandoning it altogether - and that is, unbelief. How can one repent of it, if one does not believe in God? How can one acknowledge a trespass against God without believing in God? As soon as one can (truly) repent of unbelief, it is no longer unbelief!

Mark 9:23,24 shows a wonderful example of how all things indeed are possible with God:

Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

Therein is the cure for unbelief well seen - help thou, Almighty God, all of our unbelief!

Pretty much growing up as a Christian I've heard so many different ideals about what it means to blaspheme the Holy Spirit as mentioned in Matthew 12:31-32. Alot of people seem to believe that if ever in your life you say something against the Holy Spirit, like take the name in vain or curse the Spirit of God, well you are bound for hell without any hope of forgiveness because you said something wrong against the Holy Spirit.

However that above belief is wrong. The above post pretty much summed it up. To truly blaspheme the Holy Spirit it means you ignore the call of the Spirit to come to repentance. All of us as Christians have felt that voice inside of us, convicting us of our sins and drawing us to the Lord. If we had ignored that call and not came to the Lord, that is blasphemy the Holy Spirit, because with all simplicity you have turned your back on the call of the Lord. How could that not be unpardonable? This is the only sin that takes people to hell.
