  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Lets say you are a person who truly believes:
A) If a baby dies before it can truly think, it will go to heaven.
B) An adult who does not believe in the right denomination of God will end up in hell for eternity.
C) God tells you to not kill babies, but rather educate them about God.
D) If you disobey Gods word, you will end up in hell.

From these, he decides that his goal in life should be to go around and kill as many babies as physically possible, so that they have a 100% chance to get to heaven and not about a 10. He realizes that he is going against Gods word, but he is doing it for a greater good. He also believes that he Will go to hell for this action.

Is he not committing the greatest possible sacrifice? IF he is right, would you not also be able to say that he is the greatest hero the world has seen?

Also, if you do believe A-D, would you not be a hypocrite if you didn't do this? Or at least selfish to a large extent.

Well, that is strange.

A lot of belief stems from the idea that God knows things in advance, and perhaps those babies who were born He would know they would die, and thus it would have already been of no consequence. He would not have sent the souls of people who normally would find their ways to hell to give them some sort of weird 'get into Heaven free pass.'

Life is about testing us and seeing where we are; there is no 'Congrats! You were murdered by a psycho shortly after birth and thus you will go to Heaven for certain!"

So wait, you're saying aborted foetuses might go to Hell?

Your god sounds pretty mean.

First of all, this hypothetical question is not one that is far fetched, many people really do believe A-D and some people have actually taken the action I described here (though on a smaller scale, such as only 1 or 2 loved ones)

Secondly, I would really appreciate it if you would try to take this question seriously.

And archaic, thanks for your honest answer.

I think that someone who believed only those things might find it moral to kill newborns. But I also think that anyone trying to kill babies is mentally unwell, and should be confined in a mental institution until they no longer believe it is moral to kill infants, or anyone else.

In fact, that is generally what I feel should happen to people who do believe that God is telling them to kill their children to "save" them. And, in many cases, that is what happens.

God is smart, and never has paradoxes in his will. You can't go against God's will to achieve God's will, no matter what your intentions. The truth of the matter is, even if you had a button you could press and send someone joyously to heaven, it wouldn't make it right. We are all here for a reason, the suffering here will help us appreciate heaven. I doubt greatly that many people at all burn in hell. God is not sadistic or unforgiving like that, if he was, no reasonable person imaged after himself would love him. There may even be forgiveness for this guy who murdered these people. You must remember the bible says anything we do to another either physically or mentally will be done to ourselves. This isn't for revenge, but so we can understand how we've wronged people and be propperly sorry and recieve forgivness. This guy, he's going to have to suffer the physical trauma or getting murdered half a dozen times, as well as suffer as if he were the family and friends of the victums. I have no doubt it will compell him to be rightfully sorry for his deeds.
