Spring had sprung on my pond in the back, next to the woods. The birds' eggs were hatching in their nest, and the surface of the water on the pond was filled with new life.
Lines of tiny ducks followed their mothers as they swam around the pond in search of food and fun. There was one duckling, an unusually large ugly bird that was alone on the pond. He needed a family, he had no mother or father to call his own.
One mother duck felt sorry for the young bird, and welcomed him into the family.
The other ducklings made fum of him because he was so different.
As time went on the ducklings grew into adult ducks, but the funny little stranger became a beautiful swan. This is a lesson, we never know what lies beneath an ugly exterior. The most beautiful heart may exist within.
We cannot see the hearts of man as God can see, However we can see how God is glorified in someone's life. We must by the power of the Holy Spirit, discern who speaks the truth of God and who twists the word of God in a way that will lead us astray. Do not do so by outward appearances, for inside the ugliest of men could be a heart of pure gold.
