  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ok so there were these two brothers that lived in a small town. They were the absolute definition of bad. They stole, vandalized, beat people up, the works. They terrorized the whole county. No one ever had the courage to confront the two men for fear of falling victim to their wrath. This went on for years until the eldest of the two died.
The younger brother was completely devastated but he had to take care of the funeral arrangements. He went from pastor to pastor trying to find one who would conduct the service and tell everyone that his brother had been a saint all his life. One after another told him they could not do that because it was a lie. He finally offered $5000 to the preacher who would call his brother a saint. He finally found one who boldly stood up and said "I'll do it." The other pastors in town couldn't believe that this well respected man of God sold himself out for 5000 bucks so they all attended the funeral.
When the service started the preacher told of all the horrible things the man had done. He told how the man was a thief and a scoundrel. He went on and on and at the end of it all he said: " but compared to his brother, he was a saint."
