  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The Tsunami Warner Center of the Pacific is located in my state.

What is very sad is that many of the countries did not get the warning in time for the evacuation of the coastal areas. And many of the countries do not have sophisticated equipment or part of the Tsunami warning system.

Please add your prayers in "The Chapel" There is a live Rosary that is ongoing.

It such a tragedy. 12,000 people dead and 18,000 missing in a matter of minutes. Just thinking about it boggles my mind.

If a plane crashes in the U.S. and 200 people die, it's all over the news. If terrorists fly planes into buildings and kill a few thousand people, it shocks the nation. But the death toll of these Tsunami's dwarf the magnitude of the other tragedies.

Lets all try to continue to pray that God has mercy on these many souls.

Although they do appreciate the supplies, the Red Cross has asked for monetary contributions as it will be easier for them to get the money there where they can buy the needed supplies such as building supplies and such to re-build the infrastructure.

What is really important to remember is their water supply is severely threatened. The United Nations is expecting the amount of deaths due to water related disease to equal that of those who were killed by the Tsunami if the water situatio isn't resolved quickly.
